  1. This book has always been in the back of my head. I've always loved the cover. It's one of those books that always seemed just out of reach, among the keys. After Joe Kubert died this week, I was looking at copies with no real intent on buying. (Isn't that what we all say...) Anyway, the scan is pretty dark. The white areas of the cover are a lot whiter in person and not the tan color of the scan. There was a sticker on the back of the bag for $3500. I think it was in an antique dealer's inventory, who was trying to get the NM price a while back without any care for what grade it fell into.
  2. I frequently read this thread, yet rarely post. It's time to change that. Picked this one up at a con a few months ago. I only need 3 more issues for a complete Marvel Premiere run.
  3. It took me a while to track this one down. I ordered a copy two months ago but the seller gave me a refund because it was destroyed in a basement flood. I ordered this copy a few weeks ago and it arrived today. I own the original art to a Herman & Katnip story from this issue. Casper #15, Dec. 1953
  4. Not nearly as high grade as some of the books in this thread... but a book I've wanted for a long, long time. I finally found one I could afford. It's a birthday present from me to me. (I didn't scan it, so don't worry! The fold in the bottom right corner isn't there anymore.)
  5. I got this nice stack of Richie Rich #1's in the mail today....
  6. Yep, the stain and the fact that it looks like there's some tearing near the staples. But I don't care, as you said, If Stan signed it, then it's a keeper.
  7. Just picked this up from Ebay for $15 after shipping... listed as a Fine 6.0, I don't know about that... but it looks like a nice book... especially when you look at the indicia... Only problem being that he didn't write this particular issue... just presented it....
  8. Just snagged this off ebay... $13 after shipping.. 1st Gyro Gearloose. In the past month, I've bought nice copies of WDC&S #88 (1st Gladstone Gander) and #125 (1st Junior Woodchucks)... so now I'm on the look out for issue #134 (1st Beagle Boys) I'll try to put up scans of the other later....
  9. Also picked up this sealed 3-pack of Whitman Black Hole comics... anyone know what pre-pack the elusive #4 comes in? Because this is only issues 1-3... but it was only $2.13. Picked up Dell Four Color #787 (Hiawatha #2) for $1.05 from the same seller:
  10. Just picked up this VG+ WDC&S #105 from Bedrock City on ebay... only cost $12.49 after shipping...
  11. I picked these up yesterday at my LCS... I think I'm going to try to collect every Star Comic ever... I didn't scan my books, so I used Mile High's images...
  12. I also bought the last two issues that I need to finish my Marvel Two-In-One Run... And I decided to start on the 135 issue UK Thundercats series... to go along with the 24 US issues I already have... Everything but that Marvel two-In-One have been absent from my collection for 16 years or so... and I actually won't beleive I finally bought these issues until they arrive... isn't it great to finally get soemthing you've wanted forever.... days like this are what collecting is all about....
  13. Bought these today on ebay from Mile High.... trying to finish my Nintendo comics collection. And I also got the last issue of Chip N Dale that I've needed since I was 8 years old....that was 16 years ago... I used the mile high scans, they're not the actual books... \
  14. This week I finally dipped into the buried treasure at my local shop. Unslabbed copies of three issues of Strange Tales: #146 - 6.5 - Fine + - $9 (BV: about $20) #154 - 7.5 - VF- - $9 (BV about $30) #163 - 8.0 - VF - $10 (BV about $36) $86 worth of books.... $28 And even the 6.5 looks BEAUTIFUL... Laying flat it looks like an 8.0, but a closer examination reveals a reading crease on the spine... I may've under graded these books. Except #163, I think graded that one pretty accurate. It has a black cover and looks brand new.
