Thought you guys might get a kick out of this picture. The big stack on the right is a full run of Jungle Comics.
Beautiful covers! Great Pages! And I really love the spines! Hooray Ciorac!!!!!!!
(You can tell Jungle spines from a mile away!)
Those look like Wings spines. Look half-way down. Looks like a Wings 34 to me. What do you think?

That book look very similar to a copy I had sold last month for about $75.00
S
You sold it to me. I seemed to have overpaid a little.
Can you please send me a refund for the excess over $75.
Thanks,
George
Sorry. We don't sell comics. Must have us confused with somebody else.

Can I play???
Nice 2nd printing of #29. What are these 2nd prints bringing these days? Of all the Famous First Editions, this one is the toughest.

Picked up an nice run of unrestored Detectives recently. Unfortunately, no #27.
Here is the #40:
QUESTION: Why did Robin crawl out to the edge of the flagpole in the first place. What was he thinking?

S.
what do you know about Arthur Pinajian? did you see any of the comic art?
I don't think I have come to think of it.

Picked up this unrestored book the other day: the hand vs. submarine cover.
Also purchased a killer #5 which has just disappeared into a lucky collector's centaur collection.

If he invites me for a visit, I'll help bag and board them...if that's something he thinks should be done.
Bag, Board, Grade and do Inventory???
COLLECTION?
Isn't this the website for the Model Railroader's Collector's Society for Customized Creations???
Uh Oh...
All this time I thought I was chatting with others who shared my passion for hand carving miniature comic books and painting them to order.
Boy, am I embarrassed.
I am truly embarrassed for you. We're together on that.

That clinches it. Metropolis is getting rid of all our comic boxes. The books look better in stacks.
May present some problems but I think it will be worth it.

I posted this on another thread a couple of weeks ago.

Yes. The back cover is there.

Years ago. I had a double cover #27. Both covers were beat up. No idea where the book is now.

I will have to check my stash of Detective 35s to figure out which one to sell next. Restored or Unrestored?

Are you guys going to make me single-handedly keep this thread going?
Here's two more Flessel-cover New Adventures that came in today: #20 which has really nice colors (despite my less-than-great scanner), and #31 which is the last issue with "New" in the title.
Where did you get such lovely books?

Looking to purchase high grade AF#15s and Spiderman #1s. If you got em, please PM me.

How common or uncommon is that AM22?
BH, not being a comic book dealer and relying on my experience only, I'd say AM22 is scarce. I suspect it's one of those books (like Fantastic 3) that is hoarded and just doesn't appear on the marketplace all that often.
I used to own a VG+ and a buddy of mine has a Good (that he got from Metro). Other than Berk and CentaurMan, I don't know of any other collectors who have one (but I'm sure they're out there, come out come out wherever you are!).
STEVE
Hi ,Steve, I own a Amazing Man # 22 that I bought off of Harley some years ago , got lucky . he said it was scarce also . I also have a AMF Vol. 2 # 5 that I bought off of Ted van Liew . Great , Great books!! So I'm one of those collectors other then you guys that came out, wherever I am.
I sold that AMF v2#5 to Ted Van Liew.

I wonder who bought the #36 and #37
ummm....I know!....did anyone notice that a #33 was missing from metro's inventory, too....
Yeah, it was an unrestored 5.5 Tec 33 which I believe was sold. I wonder how much it sold for.
I hear they sold it for $100,000. That's the word on the street.

Gee. I wonder what my unrestored VF copy of #36 is worth?
S
ummm...$25K
I also wanted to thank S. for taking a few minutes to talk to me about the 36 behind the scenes...I feel much better now!
rick
Definitely too rich for my blood. Besides I'm looking for an unrestored 4.0-5.0 Tec 36.
coincidence, so am I ....but, I am confident one or more will make their way to the marketplace at some point in the future....and to be honest, the Cosmic A. copy that brian and I debated on who should go ahead and get, a few months ago, is pretty darn sweet...
rick
Yeah, that Cosmic A. books is sweet! Very nice pickup as I have almost picked it up, but I decided to go for a 31. I think we made some good decisions there. Darnit, so you're also looking for a mid-grade copy of tec 36!?! I don't want to go up against you again. Hopefully there would be at least 2 that will come up sometime soon. I thought that you were looking for any grade, even a higher graded unrestored. Besides, I'm also looking for a mid-grade unrestored 37, which I know you have a Tec 37 already.. So I don't have to compete against you
Brian
The Cosmic Aeroplane Det #36 may be nice, however, I hear that it has so much work done to it that it was actually the Cosmic Aeroplane Det #46 before it was restored.

Gee. I wonder what my unrestored VF copy of #36 is worth?

You are thinking of the high grade #36 which has a cleaned cover. The VG/F does NOT have a cleaned cover.
Stephen
that is not what Vin told me (and brian, I believe) via email...or I would have bought that copy moons ago....seems we have a breakdown somewhere?
rick
The book is not cleaned. Just looked at it a moment ago. The book has a microdot of ct at the bottom of the spine. Would make it into a blue holder with a note about the color touch. The label on the book mentions the tiny amount of color touch. I assume it mentioned it on the website.
If Vin told you he thought it was cleaned, he was mistaken. I can tell it was not cleaned rather easily.
