  1. This is a great avenue to take. Old CGC blue grades are awsome as most were not pressed or cleaned.  Unfortunately majority see comics as $$ signs and will do whatever to increase their investment. Me my glory days of a teen in the 80s exploring the golden age was amazing.  Just finding that rare issue and looking at it in awe was truly awsome but I have to admit I also saw the $$ potential way back lol. So I'm a hypocrite lol. Yes you did good find more and that's where you will find untapped findings still . Best of luck!

And added by  jokiing and MagicMan_2017  this was excellent advice getting graders notes.

How about a reverse?  The best deal you ever gave someone on eBay?

I'll go first.  I was doing 7 day penny auctions, as I usually do, and accidentally listed one as BIN.  It sold in about 5 seconds.  I honored the sale anyway, and the dude didn't even leave me

Sold same X-Men #1 in ebay. For around 2k and change. Buyer said well this and that and will submit to CGC. Well of course got a raving review as it came back to him as a 7.5 CGC blue lol. If he still has it I'm  Sure he is very happy. Cheers:martini:

CGCs grading standards are not really published. But collectors have honed their own to adapt Overstreet's published standards. Generally, CGC strictness has ebbed and flowed through the years. And generally I consider old blue and red labels to have come from a relatively strict period. Lately, I have observed CGC as being a little more lax, especially when they are swamped with SS submissions or summer con season (and stricter when they are

I invested in comics for 10 years or so. 2 years ago I pretty much stopped investing for any real profit. If you are just starting now you are too late imo. From 2008 to 2012 it was easy. Nick Fury told you the avengers were coming and you seen what tales 39 did. Go stockpile 1st appearances of avengers members. Wow people will pay for villains, what villains are likely to show up. Who else can show up on arrow flash. What other street level heroes could get a Netflix show.

It still works that way, and can still be done. Problem is all the A and B, most the C list characters are used up. Most of the remaining ones are already speced on. And good luck guessing who comes next. You make real money on a silver age hero. Other problem is so many speculators now.

You could go buy a blue chip key and hope it gains value every few years. I don't feel great about that for an investment.

You can buy pretty much any marvel 1st Appearance the day it comes out and sell it for $15. Sometimes more.

Personally if I was forced to spend 5 grand on comics I would hit the dollar bin and buy 5000 books. Lame 1st Appearances and cover art from someone who could be the next big thing. Every month you will have a few books that you paid a buck and can sell for $15 to $30 I had more but got distracted.

It's never too late bro. So many avenues still.

He is a God and can do whatever he wants. Old thor came down from his position above us in asgard to lay the hammer down upon someone lowly minion who posted here 2 years ago. Now we all wait to be graced with his presence again whenever that day may come.

I don't know of your "God" he may have come after my time

When I first came on I realized that there was a huge misconseption between restored and preserved.  Of course the rest is history but I did find out that if you invade a group that has it's mind set at one thing you have to be the one to step up and take the shots as it's inevitable. No one ever changed anything without intervention.
