    Excellent post. I agree with everything you said. To me this example is more about learning how to buy comics online instead of the importance of graded books. If you bid and buy based on tiny blurry pictures (and you can even see the rounded corners and the dirty back cover in them) then you shouldn't complain or put the seller on blast.     There are two variants, gold and platinum. You can buy a sealed gold on ebay right now for about two bucks. I've seen them sell for a dollar.

    I'm sure my parents bought me my first comics. I didn't start collecting until later. My best friend collected X-Men and that got me started.

    I'm glad I saw this thread. So we aren't allowed to mention CGC's competition? Can someone point me to a list of things we're not supposed to discuss? I don't want to break any rules. Can't seem to find it anywhere.
