  1. I have a book that has been graded by a different company but I would like to have it graded by CGC. Do I need to remove this book from the slab before I send it to CGC or can I send it as is? Thank you.
  2. Yeah, Avengers #257. I got a nice copy here, but that small blue spot on the cover really bugs me. Not sure if I should return the book to the seller and find another copy or just roll the dice and have the book graded. Hmm... Thank you everybody for the replies.
  3. Is this something that would affect the grade? I have had books receive a lower grade due to "color rubbing" and while this isn't the same I do feel like it's in the same ballpark. Thanks.
  4. Bought this comic on ebay and upon further inspection I noticed what looks like a blue spot on the cover. Not sure if this is something that occured during printing or man made. (blue marker) It's a really clean book that I was hoping to have graded, but now I'm not so sure. Thanks. BTW I checked other books online and haven't been able to find one with the same mark.
  5. With NO grader notes, has anybody popped the slab open and sent the book back for a second opinion? Don't get me wrong 9.6 is OK, but for $19 has anybody given a book a second chance? A different person, a different grade. Just checking... Thank you.
  6. I've dealt with Comiclink many times before without any problems. They'll work with you too as far as payment and shipping goes. I'm doing the PP dance everytime I see an auction coming up. Woo Hoo!
  7. Thank you everybody for the replies. Will definitely look into those books listed above. Thanks again.
  8. Aside from Batman #181, are there any other important books one should add to their collection? Doing some research myself but I'm not really coming up with a whole lot. If you know of one, please let me know. Thanks.
  9. Just curious why this book is worth so much? Checked an online price guide and a CGC 9.8 tops out at $650. One just sold at an auction for $459 (CGC 9.8) Thanks.
  10. I was examining a New Mutants book at an auction and I noticed it said this on the tag at the top. It's says New Mutants #97. Then under that it says Marvel Comics, 1/91 and then under that it says 2 siamese pages. What does this mean? Thank you. New Mutants #97 Marvel Comics, 1/91 2 siamese pages
  11. I've noticed that some of these graded books can be faded so to say. At first glace the colors on the "tag/CGC receipt" look cool, but after a double take they look washed out. Is it safe to say that these books were hung on the wall or exposed to the sun long term? (NO, VHO, T5, MH etc) Just a poster on the wall? Should I stay away from these? The grade will always be there, but the color seems to fade? Thanks.
  12. Hmm... I think that's the answer I was looking for. I'll keep my eyes open for another. Thank you both for the replies. :)
  13. Have my eye on a book on ebay, but upon further inspection I noticed that the bottom staple seems a bit off. The top one sits flush with the fold of the book, (perfect) but the bottom staple seems to be maybe 3/16" too far to the right. The fold is good too though, your not seeing parts off the back of the book up front, it's just that the staple looks a little weird. (location wise) Hope this makes since. Just curious if this is a major flaw and will knock the book down considerably in grade. Hoping to send it off to CGC. Thanks.
  14. Thank you everybody for the information. Much appreciated. :)
