I wanted the brunette cover also until I noticed her weird tiny ankle. For some reason it doesn't look as bad on the other covers where she's wearing black. Looks like on those covers they are colored to look as if her butt is in the foreground covering a portion of the ankle. But on the white costume cover it's colored to look like the ankle is in the foreground in front of the butt and thus we have a too tiny ankle. Weird. Makes me glad I didn't buy the full set just to get it

I hadn't noticed this until you pointed it out and now I can't unsee it.  Now I'm glad I only grabbed cover A.

If you really want something, keep checking back for a bit. They will show back up unless they are just holding everything else back. They did not sell everything out. Theres no way. This isn't Ticketmaster. The print run was too high on these and his stuff usually takes a couple hours at least if its gonna sell out one of the sets (like unsigned set usually goes first). His website could not have sold that many within 10-15 minutes especially with the limit per order.

Yeah I think it was an issue with my mobile browser.  While I like cover D, nycc variant, I have no desire to buy the full set especially since this is going to just end up in my PC.

From Dell'Otto I assume. Become close with facilitators that do business with him and his rep David Ceci. David sells the original artwork from the covers plus other pieces. If you know Dell'Otto will be at a con find out who's hosting him and see if there is a commission list. And finally see if any facilitators are selling prearranged spots for commissions. Scott's Collectibles did this for LSCc.

Yes, for Dell'Otto.  His pieces/covers are beyond amazing.  Thanks for the tips!

I had an ASM 300 slabbed as a 9.8 cracked open to get signed by Stan, McFarlane, And Michelinie. Came back a 9.4. I talked to the facilitator he pressed on his dime. It came back a 9.8. But I was stressed.

Fair enough.  I guess it only takes one hit on a book of that magnitude to make you wary of cracking the case.  Glad it all worked out for you!

  5. I'm just back into collecting after a 25 year absence, thanks to SDCC.  Thanks to this thread, I've discovered Dell'Otto and am saving to buy a few gems I really like.  Now I've decided it's just best to pony up and get the already slabbed 9.8 with the hope of getting them s/s down the line.  My question to those who are hesitant to this type of endeavor, is how many times have you personally had a cracked book come back at a lower grade or how many horror stories have you read?  My vote doesn't count for much, but I'd love Dell'Otto signing that beautiful book you just picked up, but can understand why you wouldn't want to take the risk.

Not sure if anyone else got the email but the print run just dropped a lot on these. I liked the art but was holding back, now these look to be the lowest print run Metal Books

Only Cover A remains.  The other two are sold out.  Saw the full set a mere two days ago and didn't realize how much I liked them until today.
