Is Chew cooling off now? I asked my LCS if people have been asking for it and he said the excitement has died down in the last month or so.

Wasn't this tried with Ewert? Bunch of talk and nothing ever came of it. Didn't read the whole thread so sorry if I am repeating this.

Actually, if they actually put Holyfields ear-rats "ear" on Chu would Chu then have Holyfield's and the rats memories? Or does that only happens when Chu actually digests something?

Maybe have a cameo with Holyfield at the docs office with Chu where they are looking at their future ears through a window in the hospital. Sort of like the newborn window, but in this case it would have Holyfield and Chu's ear-rats running around.

That might actually work. I think Tyson could use the $$. Somehow he spent/lost the $100 million he earned during his boxing career.

Maybe my #6 inking was off, but I really couldn't tell the difference in the color of the prosthetic and his own skin. Maybe Layman will grow a new one for Chu on the back of a lab rat or something. They can actually do that nowadays and it would make an interesting story. Like the rat with Chu's lab grown ear attached to its back escapes from the lab. Then again, that would probably give Chu memories of the ordeal the rat had to go through by having an ear grown on his back which might be kind of gross.

Do you think biting off Tony Chu's ear is the same as chopping off Rick's hand? In otherwords, I think Kirkman regrets chopping off Rich's hand in the WD. Will Layman regret having Chu's ear bit off?

I am now part of the 1.66% of people who have CGC 9.8s or better Chew #1s first printing. Missed the boat when the 1st printings came to my LCS, but now I am good.

Thanks. I was guessing a LCS or dealer would offer something like 10 cent an issue or $30/box. I would probably just hang on to them at that price or give them to my nephews for Christmas. Not the worst thing to do with old comics.

Appreciate the feedback. I know people will pay more for certain key issues that they need, but if I want to get rid of in bulk I am curious what % of cover or what price per issue is fair market value. Unfortunately, I don't have any Harley Quinns or Batman Adventures.

Pardon the interuption. Just curious what fair market value is for new comics from 2001-2 to 11/2009 timeframe in VF/NM range or better (about 8-9 long boxes)? Probably 70% Marvel 25% DC and 5% Indy. All the core titles like Spider-Man, Batman, Daredevil, X-Men, Superman, Ironman, JSA, JLA, Avengers etc... Thinking about changing to just TPBs for my reading pleasure and to cut down on storage. Most read once and stored away in long box. Not bagged or boarded. Are they just 5-10 cent books? Would it be best to sell at flea market? Maybe set up at local convention? Consign to respected member or the boards that lives in NYC/NJ area and sell here? Burn and roast mashmellows over? Truth is I am too lazy to break up into a 1,000 lots and make a hundred runs to the post office. Thanks in advance.

You must have a good eye for new comics that are going to be good reads. I would have never checked it out without the hype.

I heard about it after the hype. First printings were long gone. Picked up one of the additional printings and was hooked. Buying them ever since. Great read. Always at the top of my stack to read when it comes out.

What was the print run on Chew #1? I heard 3,000 for 1st print. What are the chances out of that low a print run that there will be more than a few to reach a perfect 10 or just 1? If 3,000 is accurate I don't think 1k is too crazy. Might turn out to be the only one. Even though there are now 19 CGC 9.9s. I don't know how many out of 3,000 comics untouched right out of the diamond box would pass a 9.8 screening. Judging from my LCS comics out of the box every Wednesday I doubt a ratio any better than 1 in 20 or 30 would pass a 9.8 screening. I don't think this comic was hyped before or after the 1st issue hit the stands? I don't think it got popular until word of mouth spread. By the time word of mouth really got around, they were into a 2nd printing. Low print run + Nobody knowing the comic would be an instant success = unlikely there are a ton of CGC 10s out there.

Buyer must know something the rest of us don't. Tons of highest grade bronze and silver keys a person could have gotten with that money and still have thousands left over.

Yup. I am reading the Preacher like crack. Already on TPB 5. Walking Dead in the Preacher would make great TV series on HBO or even FX.

OK, I am a believer. Walking Dead Rocks! Read the first TPB last week and bought the next 4 TPBs over the weekend. Stayed up to 2am Sunday night (a work night) reading them all. I just couldn't stop. Waiting for LCS to get the next three TPBs in. Can't wait. Until then I will be reading all 9 TPBs of Garth Ennis's Preacher that I never read.
