  4. That might be a CGC customer service question. I didn't see an option for photos either.
  5. I don't feel any signatures outside of CGC Signature Series (witnessed) should get the yellow label. In their announcement, CCG/CGC specifically distinguished the difference between JSA authentication and CGC Signature Series - in other words, they made a point to remind everyone which one is witnessed directly and which one is not. One shouldn't have to look at the fine print on a yellow label to figure out if it was JSA authentication or actually witnessed. The slab's label color itself should tell you right off the bat what the book is all about. Adding JSA authentication to the yellow label series at minimum dilutes the integrity of the yellow label. JSA authentication should get its own label color.
  6. CGC approved witnesses are paid for by CGC. So, if you want to call that as people who work for CGC, that argument could be made.
  7. And if I recall correctly, Kevin Eastman has people on his staff that are CGC approved facilitator and witnesses.
  8. What you described above is not how CGC Signature Series works let alone how CGC witnesses work. First of all, CGC Signature Series doesn't have to be at every con for a book to qualify for the yellow label / Signature Series. That's why they have a network of approved CGC Signature Series facilitators that work various cons / private signings. A facilitator, however, can't witness the signatures themselves - that's the role and literal job of the approved CGC witness. A facilitator has to have an approved CGC witness work with them per event. A CGC witness just doesn't get approved to witness an event without working with a facilitator or CGC themselves (if they are at the event). If the Eastman books were signed privately away from the crowd, that's fine as long as the approved CGC witness was present for the signing and that there was an approved CGC Signature Series facilitator working that event. That scenario isn't uncommon. But if CGC's Signature Series process wasn't followed for the book you posted, then CGC Signature Series needs to investigate what happened. For my $.02, I don't feel any signatures outside of CGC Signature Series should get the yellow label. In their posting, CGC specifically distinguished the difference between JSA authentication and CGC Signature Series - in other words, they made a point to remind everyone which one is witnessed directly and which one is not. One shouldn't have to look at the fine print on a yellow label to figure out if it was JSA authentication or not. The book's label color itself should tell you right off the bat what the book is all about. In my humble opinion, adding JSA authentication to the yellow label series at minimum dilutes the integrity of the yellow label. JSA authentication should get its own label color.
  9. Oh wow - what a cool book / magazine you got signed by them!
  10. I was wondering if you sent this one in to get signed by Sir Patrick Stewart. Very nice - congrats!
  11. I see it all the time - sticky notes being put on Funko boxes, 8x10 photos, posters, props, etc.
  12. That is horrible to hear - I am so sorry this happened. Reaching out to Official Pix (and even taking it as far up the chain as possible) is the first step. There is always a risk when one cracks open a previously graded book, but to have someone put/leave tape residue on the comic is unacceptable. And as indicated before, when you take into the cost of his signature and that he is not doing signings much these days makes it even worse. I am just totally guessing here... I am wondering if the book wasn't window bagged for the signature (not even with CGC's yellow ones or any after market variation). These days, the "handlers" at the cons like to put notes on sticky notes (i.e. if the item getting signed will be personalized, add a quote, add a character name, how many items are getting signed, if you are getting a selfie-combo with the signature, etc.) to help out the guest and they tend to put those notes right on the item. I am wondering if that's what happened here - that the book was simply taken out of a bag/board and a "handler" put a sticky note on it for Mark to know what to write/do with the book. And if that is what happened, it is still not acceptable. Official Pix should have made sure nothing sticky was put on that cover. I hope Official Pix makes things right for you - good luck!
