Depends. Yellow labels, Blue labels, that stuff only matters to the grading fanatic maniacs. To the average fan, signed is more desirable. I personally prefer signed as long as it doesn't interfere with the cover art. If it's a busy cover, I prefer unsigned.

No, it's supposed to be a homage to MJ's first appearance. The outfit she's got on there as well as the bangs is her first appearance outfit and hairstyle

Just go with CBCS. They verify sigs without needing to witness them

Well good for you then for not getting into retail/customer service. But guess what, they DID. They voluntarily signed on for it. No one forced them. I think you'd agree that anyone signing on to do a job should at the bare minimum, perform at least the basic functions well. BTW - the vibe I got from the girls was not one of being rude because they were burned out on dealing with rude customers. It was a vibe of "OMGEEEEE why are you so F'ing picky about tiny tears and dents???!!!" They're obviously not comic collectors themselves, and didn't possess or want to possess a basic understanding of comic collecting, grading, condition, etc. I should also mention it wasn't just one girl at one show. I've had this same experience multiple years at their booth at SDCC with different girls. Like I said though, the dudes at the table have always been great and understand the situation at hand.

I cancelled mine also, and passed on the damaged copies at SDCC. Couldn't fork over $50 each for damaged books

I tried to buy his virgin spider-man 800's at the show and all the ones they pulled out for me had torn corners, so I passed. The girls that work at his booth are really annoying btw. I asked to see more to find acceptable copies, but they said they will only let you check 2 copies, meaning if they hand you a damaged book they will only pull out one more for you to inspect, and they won't examine more themselves to find an undamaged one, they will just pull out that 2nd copy randomly. And they act annoyed if you find a defect, and want to see another one. However, I've had good luck with the guys working his booth. They're more accommodating and helpful when it comes to helping you get a nice copy.

Yes it does damage the sticker. I was able to one off without damaging it once, but all others came apart

Coffin Comics does this with one of their titles. Every issue is #1, even though it's a continuous storyline. We are seeing things happening that we used to joke about but thought we knew it wouldn't really happen because it would be too stupid

Didn't they just do away with all the relaunch numbering and switch back to the old numbering??

Correct. The printer sends the comics to Diamond, who then fills the orders of the individual shops. It's up to the shops to return damaged books to Diamond

sure, but you also get email notifications specific to the item you waitlisted. Do they send these emails to everyone on their email list anyway? Maybe

Comics are shipped from the printer directly to a distributor, or to the store. The books don't get shipped to publishers for QC. It's happening at the printer level. But the printing facility is a factory. People there aren't looking at periodicals as collectibles that need to be coming off the presses and going into shipping boxes in 9.8 mint condition. Crinkled spines like in the photo look good to go to them. In this case it's also Marvel's fault for using the flimsy paper for the cover of a monster book. Retailers are also able to return damaged books, so in the end it mainly hurts Marvel. To a small extent the retailer also because even though they get credit, they still had to put $$ up front for the books

My Adam Hughes #800 is perfect. But I'm still cancelling my Campbell order. I would need to see them first and pay a discounted price according to the condition of each book.

Might depend on how much worse the show gets too. Whether of not it just peters out slowly or gets so bad that it's a total joke and becomes seen as extremely uncool. To me it's been the latter the last year or two, due to the horrible writing and execution

They also need to nix The Talking Dead. This isn't event TV anymore, and the talking it up and the hype they attempt after each episode on TD is laughable

A lot of people flip due to him only selling in sets. I only wanted 4 of the covers but had to buy some I didn't want due to how they're broken down in the sets, so I'll be selling the ones I didn't want and was forced to buy. 

Plus based on the comments here from people that bought 2 of the same set, or using multiple emails to get even more than their alotted 2. Not sure why people do this as it's hard just to barely break even on his web store covers. Except for the occasional exception, they don't sell for a big markup on ebay. For every one that went for over $50, there are many more times that sitting unsold when priced at break even cost.
