  1. Bought the third print years ago and luckily it graded well. Bought then newsstand already graded for like $500 a few years ago too. Before people really paid attention to the UPC
  2. Two treasures of my collection. Newsstand and third print 9.8's
  3. Looking for help with this one. Theres 2 small tears on front cover. One on bottom left and one top right. Both pictured. I also notice the right edge is jagged in places. Not sure if that’s normal or not.
  4. I have a Captain Britain 1 that has a broken CGC case. I wanted to get it resubmit it but I wanted to have it pressed at the same time. My concern is whether or not the mask is still inside cause I don't want to get a GLOD. Does CGC usually leave these masks or take them out prior too grading?
  5. I feel like I see this kind of crease on many silver age books. I don’t see it as much on Bronze Age and newer? What’s causes it? It’s less of a crunch and more just a uniform colorbreaking line. It seems to always be in the top left.
  6. Book grade is in! Will post later tonight if more people want to guess
  7. 9.6 I feel like the pictures don't show the recession all that well.
  8. Just bought this high grade MM4 off eBay. When I got it the first thing I noticed was both staples seemed to be recessed and the paper around them is tearing. They're not completely pulled through to where you can't see them. There's also some wear in the bottom corner. Thinking about returning the book but not sure if my overreacting. Thanks.
  9. Would love opinions on this grade. Also, if you think a press would help. Thanks!
  10. Hey everyone. Thanks for the help. This book is recently back from a press.
  11. Looks nicer than a 4.5 to me. I'd say around 6.0 or so
  12. Looking for a grade estimate on this. I'm really not good with judging spines on these thicker books. Small quarter inch tear at the top that can be seen in one of the pics. It's between the front cover and the fullness of the spine, not through the center. Really just one obvious spine tic on the spine that I see. Also has pretty significant bindery wholes on the front and back covers. My main uncertainties lie with the damage to the lower edge of the book resulting from the production process. Also, I’m not sure how these thick spines grade out or how the staple indentations in the thick books affect grade.
  13. Hi, I have a NM- range book with pretty significant gripper holes on the front and back covers, and some interior pages. Does cgc deduct for these?
  14. Thanks for that. I’ve never bought a book that had tanning on the inside with what appared to be a VF to NM cover. It was pretty surprising and wasn’t sure how much of a hit it has on grade. It doesn’t seem like that common of a problem on higher grade books.
  15. Looking for some help on this one. The covers look nice. Some small spine stresses. The main concern for me is the discoloration on the top and bottom of the covers. It's not super easy to see in the pics, but can be seen in person. From doing some research it seems that this would be tanning? It's also hard for me to discern the color of the inside pages. Obviously it's probably hard to tell from the pictures. I'm not sure how all of this would affect the grade.
  16. Thanks everyone. I was just curious if a professional would be able to fix that part of the cover with a press, and it sounds like that shouldn’t be a problem. Hopefully, there’s not so much overhang to the point that cgc wouldn’t grade it
  17. I recently bought a new book and noticed that there's overhang on the right cover. This overhang has resulted in rippling/non CB creasing of the cover in this extra area. Would pressing be able to take care of this as it would it other parts of the cover? It seems like if pressure was applied to the entire comic as is, there wouldn't be anything pushing back on this section of the cover to allow it to straighten out. Is this correct?
  18. Thanks everyone. Ya I know, the back cover kills me when I see it. I don't think a press will help much but I'll probably send it in just to see if it'll get any benefit
  19. Oh wow I didn't know that was possible. Thanks I'll have to try it out and hope for the best
