More close-up pics of edges and corners always help to show details, but based on these I'd say 7.5 unpressed. Looks like a press & clean would help the back cover. Very nice book. The only major problems appear to be on the front cover, top left: the spine stress and the color rub (loss) on the black ink. So unless I missed something, it could be about 8.5 after pressing.
Being the newsstand version is a plus for its value, as you may know.
ALSO.... and this is a different topic so feel free to spin it off into another thread... Do you recall removing the Tattoz years ago or did you buy it this way? I have read a lot about this topic and many experts claim that all copies of ASM #238 were manufactured with Tattoz, but I don't remember that being the case. Sure, my memory of 1983 is fuzzy, but I've always thought I had seen new copies of this comic that did not contain the Tattoz... This has been a hot topic for at least a couple decades due to a) the value of this book with & without Tattoz becoming quite different, and b) CGC slabbing copies without Tattoz as "incomplete" with the infamous green label. (I can't recall if 'a' or 'b' came first)
