  1. @rpgdreamers - What grade did the book receive, and what were the other grader notes, if any? This info could help others who are considering submitting books with the same problem. Also if you can post a picture, great. Thanks.
  2. No worries Mike. Thanks for checking! I don’t know what went wrong, so strange. Next contest I’ll make sure my reply posts successfully.
  3. Hi @CGC Mike. I replied to your personal message on Friday night with my grade submissions. Did that not come through? I'm posting here because I can't find the round 1 private thread, and also perhaps someone else here had this same problem where their submission disappeared? I am currently in a different time zone overseas and waken up this morning to check the round 1 results, only to find that my entry was marked as missing. On my end, my reply showed as posted immediately after I clicked the button. But maybe my Internet connection was no longer active?... Darn it...
  4. I'd say 6.0 as-is, and 7.0 or maybe 7.5 after pressing depending on how that bottom right corner turns out. Foxing along edges likely prevents a higher grade. Very nice overall!
  5. I'm in the 7.0-7.5 camp, since even though the tanning is severe, the book is otherwise so solid (maybe 9.0-9.2 after pressing without brown edges). I don't think they would go below 7.0. I'd be interested to see what grade it gets. I also agree that press & clean is one price for both services with every company that I've researched in the past, including CCS of course. In other words, there is no "press only" option.
  6. More close-up pics of edges and corners always help to show details, but based on these I'd say 7.5 unpressed. Looks like a press & clean would help the back cover. Very nice book. The only major problems appear to be on the front cover, top left: the spine stress and the color rub (loss) on the black ink. So unless I missed something, it could be about 8.5 after pressing. Being the newsstand version is a plus for its value, as you may know. ALSO.... and this is a different topic so feel free to spin it off into another thread... Do you recall removing the Tattoz years ago or did you buy it this way? I have read a lot about this topic and many experts claim that all copies of ASM #238 were manufactured with Tattoz, but I don't remember that being the case. Sure, my memory of 1983 is fuzzy, but I've always thought I had seen new copies of this comic that did not contain the Tattoz... This has been a hot topic for at least a couple decades due to a) the value of this book with & without Tattoz becoming quite different, and b) CGC slabbing copies without Tattoz as "incomplete" with the infamous green label. (I can't recall if 'a' or 'b' came first)
  7. Cool! Looks like spots are still available. If so, I'm in!
