  1. How are German nationals vetted? Leave your xenophobia off the board.
  2. Their auction sales are listed on the exchange, in the same way as exchange sales are. It's not obvious, but on the other hand it keeps all the sales in one place.
  3. I had that happen on Comicconnect, too, though. I won items in an auction so I put an offer on a book. I never got a rejection message, the listing and my offer just disappeared at some point.
  4. I don't know about that. If I plan on taking a long shower sometimes I'll bring a pre-Robin Tec in to read. It keeps the dirt off of them and according to the labeling now I'm actually conserving the books. They should last longer now thanks to me!
  5. That Patsy Walker was a good deal; to my eye the breaks in color on the cover blend in really well. I'd consider that an example a lower-grade keeper. I agree that it seemed like there was more softness.
  6. Nice! I was still mulling that one over today, but I already got a decent haul and there are so many wantlist items coming up in November that all I can think is how I'm going to afford even a fraction of them.
  7. I had marker bids on many items, and the "my auction bids" page is keeping the recently closed items displayed above the soon-to-close listings longer than usual. The top/earliest one is ToS 46 9.2. I'm guessing it's just a matter of time before an announcement.
  8. After successfully placing other bids, I'm now getting this each time I try on ToS 65 8.0: There was an error during processing of requested page. Number: 0x80040E14 Category: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server File: /Auctions/sendbid.asp Line, column: 254, -1 Description: The transaction log for database 'CL' is full due to 'LOG_BACKUP'. ASP Description: CDO.Message.1 error '80040220' The "SendUsing" configuration value is invalid. /error/ErrorHandler.asp, line 119
  9. I've had my eyes out for one for a while, and the 9.4 in the current comiclink auction is the only one I've seen in good shape. (I'm passing on it, though.)
  10. Yes, that. I think if anything it's a better idea to buy something you really like but don't have a previous connection to. Nostalgia isn't transferable, whereas that Mouse Guard piece would get a reaction from most of my friends.
  11. I'm still pretty new to non-DC golden age, and seeing this is a "wow" moment for me.
  12. Congratulations. I was literally a day late to a 7.0 sold here recently, and I've been kicking myself about it.
  13. I thought it was odd how low the Killer Croc origin page was going, then it went from $605 to $1351 with three bids in three seconds.
  14. Yeah, I'd decided after July that the price multiple for a 9.8 isn't worth it for me and my budget, but that sure is tempting me.
  15. A Ms Marvel 1 also sold for 1800 on comiclink in July. I had a bid on that, but it's become one of those books that goes for more than retail at online comic auctions even though it's readily available. There's a really nice one for $1599 on eBay right now, and a slightly softer one at mycomicshop for about $1340. Auction prices for X-men 130 have gone this way, too, since the Dazzler announcement. I think it's an interesting phenomenon.
  16. I've seen some that look good, but I wouldn't get a book signed on the cover except maybe for an inexpensive issue with sentimental value or if all the creative team was there. I saw in the census for an issue I just bought that there's a new highest grade, the only copy above 8.5, and it's signed. I hope they did it out of love for the book because the idea of it makes me cringe.
  17. Thanks to you both. I bought it and will probably send it in to be reholdered immediately since I have others I need done.
  18. This is a book I might purchase online, but I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to older cases and I'm concerned the label looks a little off. The stripe pattern in the light blue area concerns me the most; I thought it might be something like a moiré effect or digital artifact in the picture itself but I haven't seen them in any other photos of older labels I've looked at. I'm probably just being overly cautious, but I figure I'd rather ask now than after buying it. (I blocked out the names myself.)
