  1. Seems like a lot of the Modern Fast Track submissions are way ahead of the stated TAT.
  2. I bought a collection today that appears to have a nearly complete run of GI Joe books...including nice copies of the low print run books in the 150s. Sadly issue 21 looks no better than a 5.0. Nice copy of #1 though.
  3. I have a large X-Men collection also. Crazy to think where the prices will go once they are introduced into the Marvel movies.
  4. Looks like Youngblood #2 featuring the 1st appearance of Prophet is heating up with the news of a potential movie.
  5. I can't remember...can you add multiple 'Buy it Now' items to the cart and get the discount on all? Does that work even with best offers?
  6. I have had three of these graded as Modern with no issues.
  7. Ahh...that's right. Couldn't remember who said that. Makes perfect sense to me...and it obviously stuck with me.
  8. No, I'm saying it's quicker for the book to get handed off from CCS to CGC (after pressing) than a 3rd party grader to CGC and there is less handling of the book from the time of press until it is graded.
  9. I've also heard the argument that when going with CCS there is less time from press to grading and one less time the book has to be packed, shipped and handled in general. Who knows, I'm trying multiple pressers...including taking a crack at it myself for basic presses. Anything too involved will go to the pros.
  10. Actually, I'm comparing a full press from an outside company with a Quick Press by CCS. I had much better luck with the Quick Press at CCS. I know apples and oranges...or maybe apples and Fords. I guess I was better off just saying I was very happy with the CCS Quick Press.
  11. Yep, as stated, I'm new and still learning the ropes. When I send a group of books to two different people that seem flawless (to me) I make the assumption that the batch with the better grades had better results from pressing. As I stated, I know it's not a fair comparison because they aren't the same books but as a beginner it was something to note. Thanks for helping out a new guy and providing constructive feedback to my post.
  12. I'm new to having books processed and graded but I'm trying different pressers to compare results. My first batch went to a company for pressing and then directly on to CGC and I received two 9.8s out of 15 books. My last batch I sent to CCS for a Quick Press and I received seven 9.8s. Now I know this isn't a completely fair comparison because they weren't the same books but that being said these were mostly all books I bought new in the 80s and immediately bagged and boarded so they were all of very similar quality. From what I can tell, if you follow the guidelines for a Quick Press and send books that just need to be freshened up then Quick Press does well. Wow, I guess I could have just said "I'm happy with the Quick Press".
  13. What are your thoughts on Comic Link so far? I just signed up to be a seller. I've previously only sold through eBay but I'm weighing the pros and cons of changing now. I do like your idea of listing on both.

  15. Really appreciate you taking a look...and I totally get what you're saying now about the sales with one or two pics and no grades.
  16. I have four Fiction House comics listed on eBay. Wings Comics #30 CGC 8.0 Jumbo Comics #50 CGC 5.0 Jungle Comics #41 CGC 7.0 Fight Comics #33 (Raw)
  17. Oops...I'm #3 and didn't realize that was frowned upon. I just started selling and don't sell many raw books but when I do I don't list a grade. Instead I list every flaw I can find in the book and take pics of each flaw. Does it really matter what grade I think it is if all the information is presented? I'm genuinely asking, not saying I'm right. Thinking of switching over to Comic Link anyway so it might be a moot point. Here is a raw I have posted now...should I update with a grade? https://www.ebay.com/itm/292469874020?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649

  21. I went through this same issue when I went to send in my first batch to CGC. If you have one, use an Overstreet guide to determine the price. Do not guess on what it would be worth slabbed. If you don't have Overstreet you can reference sales on eBay of raw books to get an idea of the value.
  22. For those responding with ComicLink, do you sell all of your books on ComicLink or only those that are higher value and\or rare? I've just started selling and I've been strictly using eBay with no issues. I see ComicLink charges the same commission...should I be making the change for all sales?
