  1. My guess is that you're dealing with bug chew
  2. been there done that 2 great tastes that taste great together
  3. SW, rare antiquities and ladies underwear ( you already know about the last part )
  4. well well well...I did not know you likey the SW's stuff..otherwise, I would have summoned you as well
  5. I would be very surprised if Baker had anything to do with this cover
  6. Agree 100% with you @steveinthecity. Completely detached centerfold generally tops out at 7.0 for a Cgc graded book
  7. CgC will grade a book otherwise flawless as high as 8.5/9.0 Your book would still retain 6.5/7.0 if the centerfold is detached at one staple only...not higher based on your question
  8. anyone else notice something different? For the record, I would agree that if the book was otherwise mint, the defect alone should drop the book to 9.6 on a good day and 9.4 in a worse case scenario
  9. lower staple...nothing egregious...in both these quick examples...seems more pronounced when the staple(s) is attached to the black on the front wrap as opposed to the orange of the back wrap or perfectly flush
  10. Lower staples in each of these examples: This is a copy of a copy without the defect:
  11. I'll search for some modern book examples...I think ASM 361 is notorious for this...
  12. I don't know how the sausage is made at CgC but there are plenty of slabbed 9.8 books with that exact staple "tear/defect" so I believe CgC grades fairly loosely in this instance.
  13. It appears 100% Baker to me The inks are very distinctive
  14. Can’t confirm or deny at this point…it’s all a blur
