My rack is the bottom example. The sign is the same on each side. The rack itself on mine was painted and originally was unpainted. I bought it in the partially painted state. This was likely done because a rusty rack is unusable. If it was me I would get the rack portion (sign removed) sandblasted. You could also look for a rack with no sign. I have never seen anyone restore a sign. In your case it would be a total repaint.  How would that impact value? Who knows? I imagine you could get $500 for any useable rack. You might just want to have a new sign made and sell the old rusted one.To me the question would be do you want to keep it and are you happy with an extensively restored rack? And yes the rack is no later than later 1950s and likely pre CCA.

    Thank you!

  2. Hi Board,

I dont post very often, but looking for some help on a spinner rack I bought recently.

Here are pics of the spinner rack in my possession:

I’ve search the forums and elsewhere around the interwebs and have found an old thread and random pics showing the rack restored.  Those pics are also attached.

    So some questions:

1). Anyone have possession of this particular rack that can post a picture?  I’d like to see BOTH sides of the sign as the rust is worse on the otherside.

    2) Any info about the rack would be appreciated.  The old forum thread (2014) indicated golden age, but it was in passing.  Can anyone confirm?

    3) Which is better for resale - as is or restored?

    4) Anyone have knowledge of the original color scheme of the rack?  The restored picture is blue, but I’d like to match the original if I can if I get it restored.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks!

  3. My 2 cents - He clearly still LOVES comics.  Constructive criticism - he ends up repeating the same things over and over b/c its a monologue.  A 2 person format would help steer the conversation and not get it hung up on certain repetitions.  Clearly has a plan of what he wants to communicate and that is what he repeats.

What did they say when you called them?

I haven't called.  Its not like customer service can do anything to affect the pace of grading.  Even if they could, I don't want graders to get the book knowing that I was "that guy" when evaluating the book

(I know they don't know whose book it is...but don't tempt fate)
