  1. Hey everyone (anyone?), I remember reading on this thread a while back that someone had scanned most of the early Wiseman Dennis comics. Does anyone know where I can get scans of a few stories? There's a book coming out on kid's comics and I need to send the people that are putting it together some samples of Wiseman stories for possible inclusion. Unfortunately, most of my Dennis collection is in storage now so it'll be a while until I can get to it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Bill http://alwiseman.com/
  2. Hey Joe, Glad to see you've resumed posting cool Dennis items on this thread! And thanks for writing today's post (about the Dennis the Menace "Real Action Toy") over at the Al Wiseman Blog. It's a great read!
  3. Wow! I remember this story now. I love the panel with all the wide-eyed dirt-covered Dennis clones! And the last page with Dennis and his scruffier "twin"! Thanks for posting it!
  4. Salinas Bill, The Grand Comics Database lists this issue: Dennis the Menace Giant #4 Pines, Summer, 1957, cover price $.25 , 100 pages. The Real Dennis the Menace Playground (Text Article , 2 pages) Synopsis: An article on the "Dennis the Menace Playground" built in Monteray, California. It was designed by Hank Ketcham and sculptor Arch Garner and opened in 1956. As of this writing (October, 2004) it is still there.
  5. That was you? Show's what I know... Do you have a list of Dennis comics for sale?
  6. David, Cool! I'd like to know more about the foreign Dennis comics. Bill
  7. Hmmm... looks like I can't say "[embarrassing lack of self control]".
  8. ComicBookGuy & BillyBatson, If it wasn't for this Dennis thread, I probably wouldn't have gottten off my [embarrassing lack of self control] and started the blog. Great work!
  9. Thanks for the kind words about the Wiseman blog! I talked on the phone with Frank Hill (who worked on Dennis right after Wiseman quit perminantly) the other day. He's probably the nicest, most humble cartoonist I've ever spoken to. Hopefully he'll be contributing something to the blog. God, I was just looking over some of the pages on this forum to see what I've missed. Great stuff! I had been staying away 'cause the the guilt was gnawing at me that I hadn't put up my site yet. Now I feel better. ComicBookGuy, you've got an incredible Dennis collection! Wow! Still have to read through everything...
  10. Wow! That's gotta be a thick boxed set. Almost wish I hadn't already bought the two volumes separately...
