This is a very early version of the CGC slab ... it has no inner well, which was later engineered to compensate for "shaken slab syndrome"... where the book could slide around inside the slab, causing damage. In coins, very early generation slabs have an added value due to their antiquated status.
Your book is also the "Cape Cod" copy, from an original owner collection unearthed a few years before CGC opened, otherwise, it may have been a recognized Pedigree. Someone should nail this book. GOD BLESS ...

Thanks so much for the info, I wasn't aware of the provenance! Appreciate it.

(((EDIT: SOLD))))
Hi all! Newish to the boards but you may know me as deejay_e_three on IG and ezrae on eBay. Loads of references.
First I’ll take it trumps PMs or negotiations. Payment via check, Zelle, or PayPal if absolutely necessary (add 3% for the latter). All prices include Priority shipping in the US. Pay within 24 hours and I'll ship within 24 as long as the weekend doesn't interrupt the flow. If paying by check I'll ship once it clears. No returns on graded books please.
Classic LB Cole horror/war crossover. Only recent GPA sale was $881 for a 3.5 earlier this month. Asking $1200 shipped.
Serious bump candidate, loads of pressable defects including dirt, spine roll, and dents visible in photos. Great color. No adjustments to pics, just natural light.

I’ll add my to the heaps of positive references:
Ezra is great to deal with: high quality books, well packaged, shipped very quickly and always willing to hunt through his collection for a couple other books to bundle up in a sale.
highly recommended
Thanks for your kindness man, I appreciate it and you!

Even long-standing members here for decades and w/well established rep for selling tightly graded raws get crickets from time to time, particularly the past year or so. It's become very common.
And if lizzy was one of the dwarves he'd be Surly and not even a little bashful about it.
; )
I guess it makes more sense in that case to pop the REALLY special book or two up here now and then, and the kind of stuff I listed here can just go to eBay or FB groups where thousands can get eyes on them. I LOATHE facebook and don't love eBay but I never have trouble selling there...

I'll probably get a "Lighten up, Francis" for this, Ezra, but books put up for sale here cannot be actively listed for sale on other sites.
OK, no worries- I'll just kill this thread.
