  1. Hey guys I have a question about a TMNT #1

So I checked the status of my book and they have it described as a 3rd print.  I bought this book brand new off the shelf and am 95% sure it's a 2nd printing.  Not sure what happened but the packing slip says nothing about what print.

I called CGC and she said they would try and pull it but since it's in QC she it not sure.

My question is the cover any different for 1st, 2nd and 3rd prints?  I know it says on the inside cover but since its slabbed that does me no good.

I feel your pain, had some come back earlier this month myself. That was a long wait and I empathize!

Just one last inch to get it shipped. :wishluck::wishluck::wishluck:

Yeah I really dont understand the delay with magazines.  Why not grade them just like a regular modern book.

Anyone know if CGC cases are USA made? Currently US ports are backlogged and don't expect any easing until sometime 2022.

Thay would suck.  But if they are out of cases I wonder why they would move any out of SFG.

7th month anniversary    ... G/E/I a least a month ago. Imagine when CGC finally gears up to work on magazines they will do all with G/E/I status.

Damn, here I thought things may be moving along.

Bought this out of the dollar bin in the early 90s.  Got it graded to preserve it.   I knew it was not a great copy but came back as restored.

Is there a rule of thumb on how purple labels affect value?

Yeah after getting a price for restoration / press and re-grade not really worth it to me right now.  Maybe if it goes up in value I will reconsider.  But not worth it for a 6.5 and the book being gone for a year.

Ccs you have to send it in they will look it over and tell you if they can remove it and all that and a price. Once done it’s sent to grading and gets blue label. My experience and that of others is that almost all comics with slight color are viable candidates for removal.

it’s a listed option when filling out a submission.

Thanks, I will probably look into that when their TATs come down.

Ruins the value compared to blue label. The restoration is small color touch I would send it back into get the color removed a 6.0 Blue label will be worth at a min double and be faarrrrrr more easier to sell.

I did not realize they would even do that.  Is that sent off to a 3rd party or does cgc do it?

Care to elaborate? Just curious as ai have seen people unhappy with grades recently and assuming there are grader notes that help understand why a harsh grade right?

2 of them had notes of "pebbeling".  Which is assume are tiny dimples?  The 3rd had no notes on it.  Two 9.0 and one 9.2.  I looked those books over hard with an LED light and pressed them several times.  Covers were flat and clean.
