I just purchased several packs of Acid Free E Gerber Half Back comic book boards and noticed that the boards have quite a rough texture on both sides, and each side is also matte.  There really is no glossy side at all which surprised me as I understood

that one side was supposed to be much smoother and more glossy, which would be the acid free coated side I guess.  This is not at all like BCW boards which do have a very smooth glossy side and a rougher matte side to them.

I just want to make sure I got the right boards.  The info on the package is all correct though.  Anyone want to comment on this?

All E Gerber boards (halfback or fullback) are matte on both sides without the smooth/glossy texture that you find on most other backing boards. It sounds like you got the right thing.

Finally got my books moved into their new boxes and home.  It's not a lot of real estate, but it works really well for my set up and keeps them close to me at all times :headbang:

Very nice setup! I'm also using black wire racks with the BCW bins. The all black works well in any room, and it's not entirely obvious you're storing comics (well at least to a non-collector).

Agreed. Comic Link has been doing very well with silver age ASM books. I was just checking out some of the other auctions that ended last night, very strong results.

  4. It depends on your collecting objective...personally i’m working on a 1-100 run so I would lean towards the ASM 1. If your collecting major keys then AF15 is probably the better choice. It also depends how well the 1.0 presents, it might be hard to drop $10k on a book in that condition. Good question.

Was it an actual fed-ex holding location or a 3rd party, such as Walgreens et al? The latter is what I've historically done.  Just a no-go on the latest Heritage auction though.  Fed-Ex just said there was a restriction on the account that prevented them from sending to any facility other than the home address.

I’ve re-routed shipments from Heritage to a Fedex/Kinkos site several times, as recently as early this month. Does the restriction apply only to 3rd party locations?
