  1. Trying to decide if this is mould... Also has an interesting staple defect. What you think? Will either affect grade?
  2. Just recieved it and noted this - wasnt made aware of... How would this affect grade?
  3. Your right sorry! Thank you. I'm hoping for a 5. Will definitely get it cleaned and pressed first
  4. Great thank you for your opinion, very much appreciated!
  5. Ok so looking around a 4.5ish then. Will a clean and press do much?
  6. Really that high? I'll get it cleaned and pressed but didn't think it would get that sort of grade.
  7. Hey everyone, accidentally posted this before in the wrong thread . I'd much appreciate your help on estimate of grade please - I'd be grateful for any help. I'm guessing 4-5.5 but I'm no expert and I'm trying to get my eye in. I've done the best I can at looking out for resto but I cant see anything obvious (I know it's pretty much impossible without the book in front of you - even then can be impossible).
  8. Just realised this is in the wrong thread and not sure how to delete..

  10. Thank you for answering. Will it matter that it’s actually 2 tears?
  11. Hi. After some quick advice. I’m potentially buying a comic and considering how much this tear would effect grading potential? The rest of the book is nice
  12. Hey i was hoping for some help with regards to rough grade of my comic, I thought an 8 but I'm new to grading and trying to improve my skills with more experienced collectors.
  13. Thank you for your reply’s, some rather belligerent. I have purchased access to previous values etc with an account for a while. The data for restored issues remains limited. As a result I have asked for help here. I know issues with variable levels of repair etc. From the picture I’ve put of mine as the front cover is nice albeit somewhat folded with little visual obviousness to restoration etc whether that would make its value different from another 4 restored with same c-1 tear etc with a less presentable face... i will be much more hesitant to post in the future- despite this being the newbie area...
  14. I don’t have access to the grading notes
  15. Thank you. What sort of ball park value does this have? As I’m now considering selling it to get a blue label as mentioned above! Someone has offered me an amount and I want to make sure I’m not getting ripped of and there’s no on eBay to compare! apart from the creasing it looks in good shape
  16. Thank you for everyone’s help. I just wanted the book as I it’s a key with a nice cover and that’s all. It’s not an investment piece or anything, just something cool to look at and appreciate. I just wanted a bit more info on restored comics as from your responses it’s rather obvious that I have little experience in the area. thanks again
  17. So would it be worth doing so and re-grade or is there no real way to know and it’s just a risk?
  18. Not that I’d have noticed, however I am not an expert. I am interested as I’ve always been warned off of restored comics. So it depends on what restoration has occurred to the value? What is a c-1 tear? Is it significant?
  19. Hi. I’m after some guidance. I understand how much cgc comics are worth and how to follow these, but when restored how does this affect the value? Mainly with respect to how much restoration has taken place? For example my comic JLA 1 restored to cgc 4.0. Any help and guidance would be appreciated.
