  1. Thanks for your feedback. Much appreciated!
  2. Picked up the DH100 variant recently. Will be pressed and cleaned before being sent to CGC. Would appreciate thoughts. Think this is maybe a 9.2 and a pressing would see it improve to a 9.4? Thanks!
  3. No, they're bacd, but not that bad! It took about 3 months. Had the book for a while but not posted. Given all of the cons being cancelled, turnaround time I believe now is about 4-6 weeks and I'm in the UK.
  4. Picked this up recently and thought I was getting a bargain but then realised that on the front cover there are a couple of incision marks. Looks like seller was cutting out bag for signature and went through to comic. Price reflected the issue but was wondering whether still worth sending through to CGC or do I just file away in PC.
  5. Hi all, how I wished I had bought this a year ago! Would appreciate opinions on grade. Let down by rips to bottom of front cover but with a pressing and a clean, hoping this could maybe get to a 6.5/7.0? thanks in advance
  6. Thanks for all the expert opinions. Much appreciated. If this comes back as a 7.0, will be ecstatic, since got this for a bargain. Will post when I CGC sends back.
  7. Thanks. If it comes back that high that would be a result. Will see in a few weeks.
  8. After a press and clean, this has now been submitted to CGC. Appreciate thoughts on grade. TIA
  9. Appreciate thoughts on this Hulk 181, including potential benefits for a press. Thanks in advance.
  10. My ticket into the club. Just got back graded and cant complain, given what I paid for it, just before prices started going up.
  11. would be grateful on peoples thoughts on this book. I’m thinking 9.2. Thanks in advance.
  12. Thoughts appreciated on this. I’m thinking 7.0? Thanks in advance!
  13. Thanks for feedback. Was thinking 7.5 myself and on a good day 8.0. It’s a present for my brother so will leave it to him if he wants to slab it. Personally I think comics should be read, but given the value of some of these books can understand why a lot of people go down this route.
  14. Views appreciated on this book. Thanks in advance.
  15. DarthRawn - appreciate the useful insight. Things have certainly changed since I was in my early 20’s. I remember just picking up an amazing Spider-Man 300 from the shelf as a pimply teenager and now looking at some of these values. I seem to recall almost taking the plunge and buying a very good raw hulk 181 for less than £500. My dad would’ve killed me! Looks like I would need to spend at least 10 times that! Also grading has now become an industry in itself. Suppose given the money involved now, needs some sort of benchmarking and self regulation. Although a comic book should be read and seems a shame just to entomb it and just look at its cover behind a plastic cover. Then again if you’ve spent a small fortune on something like an Amazing Fantasy 15, you want to protec my your capital! Im going to draw up a list and then start to get some values and slowly dip my toes back in, in terms of purchases, whist i start reading some of the old titles that i used to read. I know I want the FF48-50 Silver Surfer Galactus Arc, as well as Silver Surfer 4. That’s probably as good a start. One final thing. What’s with these variant covers? They seem all the rage nowadays. Back in the 90’s we had different covers or maybe a trading card or hologram. Gimmicks if you asked me. excelsior!
  16. Newbie here. Was an avid reader in the early 90’s when I was at university. Had a stable diet of McFarlane, Larsen, Jim Lee etc before they moved off to Image. Then graduated and left that world behind me. Recently my parents dug out my old comics and this resulted in a renaissance with comics. I’m 40 now and financially in a position to potentially source some of the titles that I just could not afford when I was a poor student. Although I wished I had taken the hit back then given the appreciation over the last 20 years. So advice I’m looking for is, what’s the best place to get not only quality books but also at good value? Is it eBay, these sort of forums, local comic book stores or conventions? Im interested in key silver and Bronze Age issues. Would love to get my hands on a high grade fantastic four 48, since always loved the silver surfer. Thanks in advance
