I think that there had to be some impetus for them deciding last year to start putting scans in the grader's notes.

Anyone that is buying comics that is not searching GPA for transaction history, and reviewing the other books in the submission that includes a certification number they have interest in, is out of their minds.

Of course, how much does even that help, when a submission from 2019, with a FF #2 on the list, has been confirmed by CGC to have been screwed with?

Here is another book from that submission https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/1393412001/

Why would I possibly consider buying that comic, when 2 of the books in that submission were put on the list?

Just wondering how you look up what other books were submitted in the same order as ones that are tainted?  Don't know how to search that.....thought only the submitter got that info..............

I think that's them creating a business (LLC) in VT.

They also just opened one in Scottsdale, AZ on 2-Jan: https://opencorpdata.com/us-az/23624236

Is this some way of hiding liability under their LLC(s)? i.e., if they knew CGC was onto them and they'd eventually end up in court, is this a preemptive attempt at limiting their own personal liabilities?

an apartment in Scottsdale.....livin' da good life!!!!

Someone about 300 or so pages back said that they purchased one of the books on the list from the alleged scammer in person. They were also offered other books that ended up on the list. The alleged scammer was not alone.

I get that some people know the identity of the alleged scammer and that is great. Is this person known to comic dealers? Are the buddies known as well? What is preventing these bad actors from clearing out their remaining inventory before anyone gets a chance to name them publicly?

If this was already answered, sorry for the repeat question. Also, thanks to everyone who is shining light on this and sharing what they are able to find.

Like I said earlier.....this thread is like the show True Detective.....no one wants to tell us who the person is that did this....it just goes on....and on...and on,,,,

Not bothering me a bit, and I am sure I am in the 90+% of people who will have zero impact from this scandal.  If you deal in high value books, especially those particular issues that are scam favorites, different story.

I've been subbing right along, hope to increase.  My biggest loss, since being involved with CGC for many years, is the many hours lost reading this 370+ page thread, and following all the links to see "evidence".  Kinda interesting, but exhausting.

I feel the same....kinda like a watching a season of True Detective.....will there ever be a name of a human being ( not alien ) told in this story.... so common buyer knows if he bought from him OR his ebay website OR comic book store?
