In-House Private Signing - Mirka Andolfo
Jolthammer1 replied to CGC Mike's topic in SigSeries Event Central
For Mirka's sketches ... the announcement says "Remarque, bust sketch and full figure" are the options. When you go to the submission form, the options are "Remarque, head sketch and full figure". Is a head sketch the same as a bust sketch? Thanks -
I have 3 magazine sized books still sitting at CGC as well. Two are SFG. One ( my only one with two remarques) is still just showing Received.

Jolthammer1 replied to ScootsMcgee420's topic in Ask CGC Cards – Sports

Can't find submission info my submission
Jolthammer1 replied to KLWalden's topic in Ask CGC Cards – Sports
Nice to know a lot of us are in the same boat at least. Delivered 3/26 here. Not "Received" yet. -
When does an order appear in the "My Submissions" page
Jolthammer1 replied to ThomasAA's topic in Ask CGC Cards – Sports
Going by how things went last year with their Pokemon and Magic: the Gathering card grading, it will take about 2-3 weeks to log cards into the system as received. If the delivery service said it was delivered, CSG has it. The PO Box is physically in their building, so don't worry too much, they have your cards in their possession. ;-) -
FYI, their P.O. Box is actually inside their facility. So once you see your package has been delivered, it is actually on site. Going by what it takes for getting Pokemon/MTG cards graded, it takes about 2-3 weeks then to log it into the system as "received".

Pokémon submission question
Jolthammer1 replied to epaphp's topic in CGC Trading Cards General Discussion
All my Pokemon cards submitted in October & November (Bulk and Economy) have already been returned to me. I'd contact the middle man. -
Pokémon 1st Editions
Jolthammer1 replied to Tamerlane's topic in CGC Trading Cards General Discussion
Condition is going to matter greatly on getting those cards graded as well. We can't tell condition from the photos. If that Charizard is a PSA 3, then it will "only" cost you $200 to get it graded at PSA. If it is a PSA 9 or 10, then it's going to cost you $2000 to $5000 to get that one card graded at PSA. Don't forget shipping and insurance both ways too! Insurance is expensive for mailing valuable cards. I just spent $80 to insure one card getting mailed to PSA. Costs add up so fast when grading valuable cards. -
Cases/slabs easy to crack open
Jolthammer1 replied to TCGrading's topic in CGC Trading Cards General Discussion
I know what you mean. I have seen those too. I have heard that was the first batch of cases, and welding has improved on new cases. I also saw this youtube video titled "How to spot TAMPERED CGC Trading Cards Cases." posted about a week ago. Check that out if you haven't.- 8 replies

YuGiOh is going to require a case redesign. But I'm guessing they'll add it based on what looks like a big splash in Pokemon grading.

Hopefully you guys don't mind me changing the subject, but are there any TMNT issues that look better signed/sketched than others? I have a lot of old Mirage stuff, and trying to decide which one/s will look best. I was looking through eBay and haven't found any particular issues that really stand out. - Thanks

First timer question about grading.
Jolthammer1 replied to dfaulkner's topic in CGC Trading Cards General Discussion
Yeah, you can't do straight averages. If you had a card that was in horrible shape, with corners = 1, surface = 1, edges = 1, and centering = 10. You certainly aren't going to give that card an overall grade of a 3. -
PGM Counterfeit TMNT 1. Grade is in!
Jolthammer1 replied to PINWHEEL's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
Wow, I had no idea they would grade counterfeits! -
I was getting ready to send in some books for pressing and grading, and found this Strange Tales #102 (1962) in one of my long boxes. It has a 3/4" tear up by the "R" in the title of "Strange Tales". Wondering what you guys think, and if it's worth getting graded. Thanks in advance!

Submissions Update
Jolthammer1 replied to Orlando Cruz's topic in CGC Trading Cards General Discussion
My last bulk submission was 10 days from delivery confirmation to show up as received online. It was 8 business days to log in from delivery confirmation. For reference: I have a bulk submission still showing as Received from 10-28. So that's 22 business days so far waiting for a status change. We'll see if it moves along soon or not. -
PGM Journey into Mystery 125
Jolthammer1 replied to Tonio1771X's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
Just curious, I have this same book in about the same shape. Would you get this graded? This Hercules storyline was always one of my favorites. -
Need some advise please
Jolthammer1 replied to Master Alarcon's topic in CGC Trading Cards General Discussion
I have some of these same binders. I too was considering pulling out the valuable cards, and sending them in for grading. I just have not pulled the trigger yet. I think you can make more money grading and selling the cards individually, but like everyone else has said, it ruins the coolness of the binder. It's a really tough call. Good Luck! -
My first order was Standard. I mailed from my home on 10/23. And my cards shipped back on 11/3. I was extremely happy. Very fast return. My most recent order was bulk. I mailed it 10/30. It was picked up by CGC on 11/2. But it hasn't been logged into the system yet. But I somewhat expect that with Bulk. ;-)

Curious about grading
Jolthammer1 replied to Willwhit's topic in CGC Trading Cards General Discussion
My opinion is that if you feel a card will be worth over $100 after it is graded, then I would get it graded. That's even if it's in moderate shape. If I feel a card will get a 6.0, and eBay sales show a 6.0 is worth over $100, then I consider getting it slabbed. But ... that's just me. -
Nintendo Power Magazines Collectors represent!
Jolthammer1 replied to whetteon's topic in Comic Magazines
Yikes ... never thought I'd see this. I have every single issue! I even have the pre-Nintendo Power mailers saved. I should scan one. I remember one time I went to renew my Nintendo Power subsription, and the guy asked for my NP Membership #. He stopped and laughed and said ... "That's the lowest Nintendo Power # I've ever seen!" I've never let it run out. ---- Here is the Pre-Nintendo Fun Club News Thing. I have two issues. This went on for a while until it went full NP. I don't recall the history too well during that time period.
