  2. ASM 300 McFarlane signing Well, sent off my first SS submission to Desert Winds for the McFarlane signing. It was a ASM 300 that I bought off of the rack....wish I would have bought more of them, but as a teenager money was tight and investment was not my top priority. Got out of the comics scene at the beginning of the 90's like so many people did. Toted these long boxes everywhere I went for the next 20 years or so. Got back into comics just a couple years ago, largely due to CGC. I love what they have done for the industry. I think if CGC had been around when I quit collecting I may not have quit at all. Anyway back to the topic at hand. Because I really didn't pay much mind to the comics within the boxes all these years. The ASM 300 suffered some slight spine stress as a result. This is the main reason I never submitted it for a Universal slab, even though it would have been worth it. I decided at the last minute to send it off as my first SS submission. Literally about 10 days before the books were due. A fellow boardie gave me an express pressing to help out with the spine stress it had suffered and off it went to Desert Winds. I'm hoping for a 9.4 when it comes back, and I really don't think it would be a surprise if it scores as such. I've got the SS bug now so I recently sent the ASM 298,299 and 301 off for a pressing as well and with the white covers I expect excellent results. These I will be hanging onto for the next Todd McFarlane signing that comes along. To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.
