  1. Vincent Deighan is Frank Quitely's real name Way to go that is truly rare how did you get him to sign that way.
  2. San Deigo But it was only one of my subbs not everything.
  3. I just got in a package from CGC on friday. I got some very good grades but I have one that stands out above the rest and that is a Clive Barkers the great and secret show # 10 signed by clive barker it graded a 9.9. I will have a picture up later this week.
  4. Yes it is a tragic loss and so soon. I knew yesterday I just didn't want to admit it.
  5. You never heard the stroy about how Mark Grunwald had his ashes put into the ink to print captain america. I thought everybody knew this.
  6. I am a witness. You can send your books. to me. PM me and we will talk about it.
  7. If you ever want to sell that 9.2 just tell me I love that book It was so great to get to work with that book.
  8. It is good to see you are excited about this book. I am very seldom excited about a book any more. That's too bad....you need to find the excitement again....maybe you can get people to just sign your body in india ink? That is an idea but it might get me in trouble. Maybe an amazing signing needs to come along. Something truly amazing might excite me. Meeting Frazetta would excite me. Getting BWS to sign some books for SS. Sam Keith Making a convention appearance would excite me. The last time I was probably excited by a signing or event was when I went to lunch with Creig Flessel and had him sign a handful of books. That was exciting because He was the first guy to draw my all-time favorite character. It was memorable and amazing because he was so nice and knew so much about comics that very few ever new.
  9. It is good to see you are excited about this book. I am very seldom excited about a book any more.
  10. I am glad they arrived safe and you are happy with them.
  11. 15 is the limit. It has been determined that anything pass 15 will unlikely fit on the label. that is also dependent on the amount of dates on the label aswell. AS a rule I have stopped taking request for more than 10 signatures on a book, and no more than 4 different dates. Most Witnesses will probably agree more than 10 signatures becomes a big headache.
  12. Has anyone ever seen a Phillips signed Marvel Zombies? I have yet to. His signature seems very hard to obtain. Sean Phillips lives in england. He doesn't have the money to travel over here and apparently he doesn't have enough following for a show promoter to fly him over. That being said. He might be in san deigo this year. I know he will come over anytime someone wants to sponsor his trip.
  13. so it is about 6000 but that is still alot considering the drop in price when you go to 9.6 or 9.4
  14. I would have been so scared the book would have gotten damaged. How much is that worth in 9.8?
  15. yes the lunch was paid for by you and the nachos were good.
  16. your thanks is not necessary Scott. I could tell how much it meant to you. If it weren't for you driving there I would have never found the place. Plus the volvo was much better than a taxi.
  17. Hey scott I am thinking of coming up for supercon If I do we might have to plan another lunch.
  18. The piece that creig is doing for me is awesome. When It is finished I am going to take it to DC and ask them if they wish to publish it as a cover of a pinup in a new issue of sandman mystery theater.
  19. I enjoyed this lunch very much and loved the stories. I am planing more lunches with other living golden age artist who don't attend conventions. I was considering Jack Davis next.
  20. I am sure that it would take him "more than a couple of hours" now to do the recreation for the cover to 'Tec 18. Does he have a lot of commissions on the go or would he also be willing to take orders from some of the board members here? Thanks again for sharing your extraordinary day with us here. Creig does take some commission work now but he is kind of tired of recreations so he creates new pieces. My sand man piece is gonna be fantastic.
  21. I truly enjoyed myself that afternoon. I have had many great experiences in my life while meeting creators and I don't think anything can top that.
  22. These books were in perfect condition I saw them before they were graded.
