  1. Check out this dynamic panel from 147! Carmine was the master!
  2. Undersea Agent #1 featuring a Sub Saucer...lol!
  3. A little blast from the past some of Carmines wonderful future cityscapes: From Flash 132
  4. I would have LOVED to have met him! So glad you got to meet him there for those of us that couldn't. Where you there the year John Broome was honored in SD? I always wondered if maybe that year they had a booth together? Now that would have been truly amazing!!!
  5. I love how the saucer has a chrome front grill and Bel-Air type head lights! Classic!!!
  6. A version of this ad also ran in Archie's Joke Book in 1961 but it was in full color on the back: There has to be a DC match out there from 1961!? GCD search pulls up these titles:
  7. That's my original 123 inside back cover (above). I could not find a Flash from the few I checked before and after 123 that had the same combo. There was an amazing reprint done about 3 years ago from DC that had all the original ads and it looks like this: Same shading. What have you found? What is the difference? You would think the ads would all run with the same art but maybe they changed things up once in a while?
  8. Looks like Bender finally ran into one of his exes? And she wasn't so happy to see him Love that Sub Mariner! And of course Ricks flying saucer! Awesome stuff!
  9. And here it is 10center Fans! The last issue I needed to complete the Flash run 1959-1985. Mission accomplished! What will I collect now?
  10. so true! Make those actuaries earn their keep by doing some real work in comics! "Fight this creature with a rubber log?" Hilarious!
  11. I did not get to check last night...but I haven't forgot about you this should be a fun quest! Checking anything I have from DC from 1961. You say you've seen others but the shading is off on the ring? We can compare--I can share a picture of my 123's back cover here in a bit. (mine is not slabbed).
  12. GCD only found this cover. This may be the only submarine ever to grace a Batman cover?? I find that hard to believe.
  13. Did the official Bat-Sub ever grace the cover of a Batman comic?
  14. Love this cover! If there was ever a Tec book for me to go after, it would have to be this one. Love those Sub covers!
  15. It's the Revolutionary Soldiers (back) and the Zodiac Ring offer (inside).
  16. I can check some of the contemporaneous Flash issues for you later tonight and let you know.
  17. Cool! I love the fish bowl helmets!
  18. oh yeah shes getting up there, poor old car---mines the same way--and i've been putting off buying a new car so I can complete the Flash collection. Hey I got priorities!
  19. We will have to stay in touch and get together --there was talk earlier of us Texas Flash fans all meeting up in Austin, where I could buy you a beer and we could go check out some of the great LCS's there. I am still loving the idea and as soon as the Spam-demic subsides lets do it!!! Ya know some of the mid west folks meet up every year for dinner and drinks. We could kinda start our tradition down south here-it would be fun!
  20. Well, here it is Flash Fans, the last issue I needed to complete my run came in today! It is so amazing to have finally done it. After 3 attempts over 40+ years, I now have the complete run from 1959-1985. It’s safe to say when I sold off the second incomplete collection in late 1999 early 2000, that I felt like it was probably never going to happen to me. I stopped collecting altogether for many years. I want to say sometime in 2013-2014 I slowly began to get back into it buying a few issues here and there and then I joined the boards here and it really began to come together. Without your help I'd likely be years away! Special thanks to my Flash mentor @Terry E. Gibbs. You always encouraged me and gave me sound advice. Thanks to @Jaylam who helped me get all those missing issues from the 80’s. Thanks to @JohnH19for finding those keys for me in just the right (affordable) condition. Thanks to @Frisco Larson for giving me that deal on the 139. Thanks to @electricprune for digging through bins in Michigan for me and coming up with several bronze issues I needed. And a very special thanks to @frozentundraguy, who was always encouraging me, keeping a sharp eye out for me online, in places I’d never thought to look before. He’s the one who found this 117 on ComicConnect for me, among others. He also helped me create the “Guess the Last Issue” contest last summer and it was so much fun, not to mention a great motivator! As I’ve said before, for most of my life, I was always the only Flash collector I ever knew of, then I joined the forum here and found the greatest Flash fans in the world, I’m very grateful to have met you all. Thanks so much for making me feel like a very Fortunate Flash Fan indeed!
