  1. I've only owned 1 PGX comic. So far no symptoms of contracting the plague. I agree, they're sub=par. I had a great opportunity to own a FF#1 a couple years back. Turned out to be a good investment. I don't plan on selling anytime soon. But when I do, it will probably be offered in its PGX case.
  2. Do I think the value of my FF#1 will be enhanced by CCS+CGC, I'm not so sure.
  3. With respects to the OP, IMHO, no one outside of the CGC Forum much cares (as the sales data I'm posting suggests). Hence, PGX is still in the marketplace.
  4. I'm an uptight computer engineer by trade. The purpose is to confirm my opinion that there is no value in cracking and submitting my FF#1 PGX 5.5 to CGC.
  5. TwoPiece . . . in your opinion, what percentage of comic book collectors (investors) are actively spending time on CGC Forums? I like hanging out in the GA forum. Over the years, I'd guess about 150 members regularly post\lurk there on any given day. It is my opinion, the general comic collector isn't as informed about the business of graded comics.
  6. Yes, indeed. To expand on the OP, the general comic book collector doesn't always look at it that way.
  7. If I owned the PGX copy, I'd be satisfied with the sale price.
  8. Well the most recent CGC 5.5 sold for
  9. I'm exploring this topic for the first time. Sharing my thoughts publicly. Hoping for some supportive evidence.
  10. Here is the type of intel I'm looking for.... By comparison, the PGX 8.5 sold for half as much as the CGC 8.5 12 month average. The PGX 8.5 sold for about 20% more than the CGC 7.5 12 month average. Also, the PGX sale was a 'Best offer accepted' listing.
  11. I've yet to see data to support your claim. It is my hope that this discussion will provide supporting evidence to your claim.
  12. Over the years I've read countless posts describing how horrible PGX grading is and seen visual evidence to that effect. I agree, PGX grading lacks the sophistication of CGC and they constantly over grade. My question is, 'Outside the esteem virtual halls of the CGC Chat rooms, does the comic collecting rabble discount the value of PGX grades?' I'm of the opinion that they buy the label and not the book. I have a FF#1 that is a PGX 5.5. There is no way I'm going to send it to CGC to get a 4.5 label.
  13. What investigation? What do you realistically think is going to happen? i'm skeptical CGC has a precedent in place to resolve this. Ultimately, it has to be a buyer of one of his counterfeit auctions that must initiate a legal investigation. What I'm suggesting is that the next time he lists an item that appears to be tampered with, someone should post it here before bidding is closed and EVERYONE report it as a fraudulent listing.
  14. Don't wait for eBay, cgc, legal representation, nor a congressional investigation to resolve this. If everyone reading this thread doxed bargainhuntersstore via eBay messaging, he would get scared and withdrawal from his unethical business practices. With respects to his customers, the old saying goes, 'you can't con an honest man.' In otherwords, the buyers got what the deserved.
  15. Earlier this week, I watched an estate auction where a raw FF#1 in 4.5 condition sell for right in the GPAnalysis 12 month average range. I thought I found a bargain, turned out to be full retail.
  16. Pack it up and make it a traveling road show. I'll clear out some corn stocks here in Indiana for you.
  17. +1 in everyones comments. Very eccentric results.
