  1. Agent of slabs is gonna be there. They were the same people that witnessed his last signing and got it slabbed. Gonna assume they will suffice for this task as well.
  2. and then he just has them witness and submit it to be slabbed again? sounds simple enough thank you
  3. So I have a friend that I go to cons with often. In 2017 He got a Futurama comic signed by Billy West (voice of Fry) and he got it witnessed and slabbed. Now we are going to a convention next week that has Phil lamar (voice of Hermes) and John Dimaggio (voice of Bender). He wants to get the same comic signed but its already graded and slabbed. Is there anyway he can get his SS copy signed and reslabbed but still keep it a SS series but with the 3 signitures now? Or is he gonna have to have them do another book?
  4. The reason I even ask is cause as I said, one day in my twilight years, I wanna eventually sell and I wanna be able to make some profit one day.I know over time GL 85's may go up just over time do to the age of them. I mean who knows how many there will be in lets say 2054. I just wanted to double check with people here cause my friend was saying that its a 1.0 or .5 and that I shouldn't embaress myself by having Mr.Adams sign it and with Green Lantern being my favorite hero of all and with Adams being one of the things that helped make him what he is, I wouldnt wanna present him with what my friend called "colorful toilet paper"
  5. Oh I do. I have never been a person to put everything in one basket. I like to have a Plan A and a B all the way to Z if possible. Sadly I don't have that kind of time or funds. The convention itself is costing me quite a bit and I kinda lucked out with this copy. Basically it's this copy or none at all I can only hope I get a 4.0 which to me is alright, 4.0 is better than a 2.0 or .5
  6. I would hold onto it for a while. My comic collection is something I wanna keep for now but its sorta my retirement fund in a way. One day I will sell it but that day is like 35 or 40 years away
  7. 4.0 doesnt sound bad. Friend made it sound like a 1.0 or a .5
  8. Snagged this for $50 but with ebay bucks I only paid half that. Thinking of taking it to Michigan Comic Con and getting Neal Adams to sign it and since CGC will be there I may as well have it witnessed and slabbed so it can be my first SS copy. Thoughts? My friend doesnt think its in good enough condition to even bother
  9. Considering buying this copy. Grade says 1.5 but it doesn't look that bad. some spine stress and whatever that is on black hand but it doesn't look bad for a 60's book... I think. Thoughts?
  10. Oh trust me I am. I like to collect the stuff other people throw away. I literally live for the $1 bins and kinda just collect what catches my eye. I have a full collection full of things that are one hit wonders and such. Only recently have I expanded to collecting interesting crossovers and some first-time appearances and such. Actually came across this while looking for Batman and Green Lanterns first team up so, yeah
  11. alright thank you you just never know today and it never hurts to ask
  12. Was browsing some silver age comics when I stumbled across this . It says that it's unopened and based on what I see, it looks perfect. Seller only has 1 feedback and I was always told that if its to good to be true, it is. However, I have seen some people get really good deals. I just thought I would get your opinions.
  13. The book is from 1966 and is the first appearance of Goldface. Has some spine stress marks that break color and some scratches on the front cover. The comic has some bad creases in the upper right but it currently lays flat all around. there is a slight stain on the back cover and a stamp. in all say maybe a 4.0 maybe 4.5 given the age?
  14. So here in August I will be going to Michigan Comic-Con and while there I was thinking of having Billy West (voice of Fry) sign my Futurama comic and if CGC was there then maybe get it witnessed and slabbed. While this thought came about I decided to look and see if others had done this and to my surprise, I didn't find any SS series with voice actor signatures. No Kevin Conroy on Batman or Tara Strong as Harley Quinn. I did see some actual actor ones but none for VA's. This makes me wonder if VA signatures can be part of an SS thing. Does anyone have more info on this?
  15. that's what my buddies are saying to do but then the gf says that ill never be able to afford to dump over 1k on a comic and issue #1's aren't cheap unless the quality is low. both sides make good arguments and that's why I'm indecisive at the moment.
  16. Local comic shop has a Green Lantern #1 from 1960 slabbed. Shops asking for $400 for it. the grade is 2.0. It's an issue 1 and it looks decent enough. Girlfriend says to get it since I am a huge Hal Jordan fan but my buddies say to pass on it since its a 2.0. I know issue #1's for big superheroes don't come often. Just though i would ask for opinions of people who actually deal with rare books like this. If I bought it, it would be the rarest book I ever owned.
  17. I meant to ask about that. When it comes to grading, If a grading company goes out of business, are the grades worthless?
  18. or my kid, possibly as a college fund or something. maybe retirement, who knows
  19. well others I was thinking was the first appearance of Kyle Rayner, the death of Hal Jordan with the foil varient cover and The death of Superman with the tombstone cover
  20. Been collecting comics for a while and I have been wanting to get pretty serious about it. Was told that I should start getting some of my comics graded for maximum selling potential later.
  21. Hey there guys, new member here and I got a question for you. So I have an entire Blackest night set with all the tie-ins. I know it would cost me hundreds to have them all graded but I also have a full set of the Green Lantern/Star Trek crossover and a few select others. My question is what (or how) do I select what should be graded? Surely I shouldn't send every lantern comic I own out to be graded. Just curious what should be considered grade worthy.
