    "purple variant" eh??

these companies with their cover gimmicks!

    Just tell good stories!!! heh.

Wasn't intentional, this was long before the days of gimmick variants.  This is a pressman letting one short pass of this book missing 2 printing plates get through before they noticed the error and fixed it.  Because of the economics of the times and the fact that this stuff was "just for kids" they let it go and sent it off to the market.  These are actual rare, not manufactured to be so.

  2. OK those of you who've been with us since page 1, remember when I said there were two books that I'd be fine not selling?  The first was a minty mint Haunt of Horror #1.  This is the second, the famed "purple variant". Look at it against the previously listed copies.  Magic!

    Lot 214:

    Sandman 1 Copy E (6.0, purple variant) $50 SOLD!

  3. Ok here's one of the more interesting lots in the thread, likely only of interest to dealers or serious speculators.  Had a chance to buy this super high grade group a few years back - the pandemic pushed the movie off the schedule but apparently Dean Deblois is still working the --script while Universal kicks some of its movies down the road a couple of years.  Regardless, most of these are the mintiest mint with most 9.4 or better and at least half are 9.8 candidates.  Hoping someone buys this and sends me a PM when the movie comes out 3 years from now BEST PURCHASE EVER.

Please keep in mind that this will certainly bump your shipping costs up.

    Lot 204:

    Micronauts 1 x 46 (Yes forty six)

(Average 9.4+ most 9.6+) Buy them all for $350 SOLD!
