  1. If anyone is interested I broke up the set to sell. Sold volume 2 and 3. Have #1 left .
  2. First mistake, never compliment it. Just like dating....talk about the flaws and then go in for the close. Edit: Just kidding.
  3. Frame is not included! So far my $1 listing fee is paid for!!!!! I do have a great Iron Fist from him. The price was actually less than $300. To me I think the face just looks off....maybe the eyes? Probably would have made a decent looking black suit Spidey.
  4. Look at this beauty.....it could be all yours! This was recently commissioned this year (2019) but needing to sell. VENOM COMMISSION BY COMIC BOOK VETERAN GREG LAROCQUE (Web of Spider-Man/Flash) 11X14 Frame Not Included. https://www.ebay.com/itm/ORIGINAL-COMIC-ART-MARVEL-VENOM-BY-SPIDER-MAN-FLASH-VETERAN-GREG-LAROCQUE-11X14/202811786499?hash=item2f38864503:g:LlMAAOSwSKJduc5a
  5. Just listed the beauty in a $1, no reserve, 1 day auction.....Which one of you high rollers wants to walk away with this gem!!!!!
  6. It is close to Christmas, who wants to trade me a White Elephant gift for it?
  7. I would never list it for that, wouldn't feel right. I am listing it for $65 just to buy myself a bottle of Jameson Black Barrel.
  8. I said i wanted a Venom perched on a rooftop, here is a pic for reference. When I got the package at the front door I was pumped like I usually am getting the "knock" we all love to hear. Then I opened it and got sad.
  9. Trying to polish it. Wanted to see if it would grow on me.
  10. Ok, so I decided to post the commission but whited out the artist's name. Again, he is a great guy, easy to talk to, and I will probably reach out again some day. Just think he was having an off day plus it was on the cheaper end of commission prices. I'm trying to fall in love with it, put it in a frame.....but I think this one is going into storage Also below is the image I gave for inspiration to the artist.
  11. What's the link again, know it's been posted before, just can't find it.
  12. Didn't the Byrne Spectacular Spidey 101 go for under 30k? Don't know the classification for Trophy but that cover always makes a top 100 cover list.
  13. I would never "out" him. He is a good dude and everything I have seen from his commissions have been spot on. And like I said I would even go back to him with a bit more instructions. What turned me off is heavy marker usage which I can't stand, probably should have mentioned it.
  14. Received a commission from a known talent and it just doesn’t look very good. Price was fairly minimal but nothing to throw out the window. The concept was followed and it was turned in just a few moths, but the art and proportions are just off. I followed back up with him and just said “thank you very much, I appreciated the time and effort”. I won’t be displaying it and it will end up being stored away. Felt like I just tossed my money away. What’s the protocol? Roll the dice or send it back like an undercooked steak? I wanted to keep the relationship solid as I respect his work and perhaps might get another one and just voice that I would like it tightened up more.
  15. Nice..he always seemed like a mix of Liefeld, Bagley, and Turner to me.
  16. Marat has been around since the early 90's. Pals around with the early Image guys but never broke out with them. Does work from time to time for a variety of publishers including Marvel. It's interesting to me how some just explode and others hover, because his art is on par with some of his contemporaries. Thoughts on his work? And to bring it around to OA I am thinking of approaching him for a commission, samples below.
  17. Yes, rule would be a $100,000 to be used on original comic art only. Buy what is available today. You have 5 days to spend it Brewster’s Millions style. Don’t get to save what is unused. In case anyone asks, the $50,000 is cash and is tax free in the form of $20’s.
