I'm not going to explain why but the book HAS to be published in 2010 and that is the timeline we are working with. It's coming guys, it's coming.
Jim
looking forward to it.

Noticed that Sully's ST 110 in 9.4 went for $17500 today. Is that a record
price for any Strange Tales issue ever?
went for $10,500 last May 2007 (per GPA) so guess it should be a record.

Nice key book. Just bought one too

Kudos to ChrisG for packing the comic (HOS 92) securely and the book looks great! thanks Chris!

Andrew, if CGC does not give your dad's collection the pedigree status it deserves, would you be ok to do it yourself? It's like certifying each book that its a Toth Pedigree or something. Our own Harry (Burntboy) does this to his collection, Sid Luncheonette.
Best if CGC grants the pedigree status though, Tim have you emailed Haspel? Maybe a call to Stevie? =)
Sorry just saw this thread and its a long read.

i only found about this thread today. good thing i never have dealt with any people listed here.

It's interesting from reading this thread how reliant people have become on GPA.
Being an old dinosaur, I don't see what's wrong with collectors still having to do a little homework, rather than having all info available to them at the press of a button. Those are the kind of things that in my opinion separate the really skilled and successful collectors from everyone else.
Personally, I would say that if CL data doesn't get included in GPA, then people should individually record CL data for books that they follow (just like BB13 does), and factor that data into the GPA when they are assessing price. They should do the same with other sites that don't participate in GPA, such as HighGrade.
we're still young, lazy and we want everything in a snap.
its no biggie since i can note the prices after the auction. AF15 in 5.5 selling for $12K. wow now I am glad I bought mine a few years ago.
-
What i dont get is, lets say there are 700-1000 copies, why have only 52 of them been graded by CGC? Are there really that many owners who prefer their books unslabbed?
Yes
-
Glad you got your money back Brent and to Mark well done.
-
I hope Brent gets his money back. I have dealt with Brent in the past and have only high praises for him and have recommended him to a fellow collector.

Arch,
Most of us that participate on the CGC boards do not hang out in the water cooler, and therefore don't know the people who post there.
OT posts tend to be of a more personal nature, and are directed towards friends on the boards, not the strangers in the water cooler.
Could not have said that better

congrats!
