  1. Here are a few more pics. The set I originally posted were taken in a room where the lighting is a little weird and has a yellowish tinge. I see in those pics where the area near some of the spine appears yellow/brown. I checked the book again and could swear I don't see it in different light, but maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me. One note about the interior--it's a first print, so the paper used is cheap, common newsprint. Thanks again for all of the input! This is exactly what I needed!
  2. Thanks, everyone! I really appreciate the feedback. I bought it in the late 80's boarded and bagged with the flap taped, which is how it stayed for the last 30 or so years, until I opened it yesterday to move it to a new bag with a new board. I recently reacquired what remains of my comic collection from childhood and am trying to decide how best to go about preservation and what makes sense from the standpoint of the value of the books. The TMNT No. 1 is far and away the most valuable. The other stuff not so much, such as TMNT No. 2 (first print), first print Dark Knights, DD #158, etc. I think I may send in the TMNT Nos. 1 and 2 for grading (maybe pressing). Happy Memorial Day!
  3. I posted a question regarding having my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle No. 1, first print graded, and it was suggested I post some pics here, so here it goes...what do you think?
  4. Thanks! I believe I will take that advice and posts some pics.
  5. First time poster. Many years ago, I sole my entire collection except for a few items. The most valuable comic I kept is a first printing of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1. I paid $200 for it somewhere around '87 or '88. It's in great condition, in my opinion, but I have no idea of the range in which it may grade. I am new to the grading process, and it seems more complicated than I anticipated. The general question I have is whether it be worth the time and trouble to have it graded and, possibly, encapsulated. I understand it is a difficult question to answer in the abstract, but any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
