So I am going to just ask this but did you request the color sigs that you got?

No, I was unaware that I could request colors, otherwise I would have asked for white/silver on the darker parts on the other books I had done. There is black on black on two of them and very hard to see :(

Quick photos or scans go a long way towards peace of mind before shipping. I've discovered minor defects that I wasn't aware of by doing this. It helps me adjust my grade expectations and in more than a few instances, re-evaluate whether I want to send the book in at all.

Here are pics of the book. The tear is in the top center with another damage spot directly on the opposite back side of the book. It was damaged when someone grabbed the book there and tore it. The spine ticks could well have been there when sent. This is UNACCEPTABLE that this was handle that poorly. There was no rip or damage like this to the top center when I sent it out.

Let us know what grade you get on that one!

Apparently something happened with my Venom 1 that was as nice a book as I have in my collection.  It's coming back as an 8.0 with multiple notes of damage and tears to it. This was not nearly the condition it was sent in. The book was bagged/boarded immediately after purchase and never even read or taken out until I moved it to the window bag. It was even packaged between slabs with cardboard/bubblewrapped/more packing material around the entire thing, then bubble wrapped again. Cardboard was bigger than the slabs so the books were secured with painters tape. I'm beyond confused and upset by this. The others are all 9.8's.

  4. I sent in some books for the Cates signing. One was a Venom number one from 2018, there was Zero damage to the book whatsoever the book has never been out of its bag and board from the moment I purchased it. Here are the grading notes that I just got.  How the hell is this possible????

All the other ones were a perfect 9.8 that were in this submission. What happened to this book is my question

25 comics at CCS for a quick press since  early June. "Current turnaround 20 business days." Now sitting at 37 business days and still waiting. :taptaptap:

Got ya beat. 4 books at CCS since 6/8/18 on same request then off to grading. 2 months solid so far :(

forgot to add, another one got there about 3 weeks ago, still says "Rec CCS Required" and not "At CCS" like the first 4.

  6. Just got a book in from an ebay purchase. It's a 9.8 Lando #1 from the mini series, 9/15 print date, action figure variant.  Unfortunately, the slab says it's Star Wars #1 action figure variant and 3/15 as the date. Looks like a mistake on CGC part. I notified the seller but I'm not asking for anything from them for it since I didn't really read the label closely. My only real question, is CGC required to put the correct label in there or would I have to pay for a re-slab?

  7. I emailed them last night and saw they replied today. It was originally set to be a 5 issue series. Issues 4 and 5 were put together in one large 4th issue. I tried to get print run numbers for the variant I have. It can't be more than 20 or so and I cannot find any other variants that say 1 of 5 on them either.

srezvan thanks for the info as well.

  8. I have issues 1 and 2. The first issue being this exclusive variant edition. I went to ComixTribe's website and it shows 4 issues were released in 2012. This issue says Issue 1 of 5.

Does anyone here have any info on this comic? I am about to re-read 1 and 2 as I remember them being very good. Any help is greatly appreciated and thank you.20180702_161547.thumb.jpg.f165230161d90c35904f6eb2d8a82d45.jpg20180702_161556.thumb.jpg.2bd780d1176c69a94d331973d0a33239.jpg

Possibly the wrong place to post this, but here's my beef with Registered Mail.  It's suppose to be scanned at each point along the route to protect against loss.  And it's supposed to be handled differently to protect against damage.  And yet, here's what I've had to contend with for the last 5 days.  Now, I'm guessing CGC uses ground shipping, in which case the package should be checked in on a daily basis since there are rules and regulations on how far truck drivers can be on the road each day.  So why hasn't it?  And I still don't understand why Registered Mail costs more than Priority shipping when it takes much longer to deliver (I've shipped a bunch of priority packages and it usually arrives at the destination within 3 days...heck, I once had a package arrive at its destination NEXT day).  I'm guessing the main rebuttal has to do with higher insurance, but I've mailed and insured a package up to $1000 for $20.  Meanwhile, it's $32 for Registered Mail up to $500 insurance.  And I'm sure CGC must get some sort of discount because of all the packages they send out.  So why, for the life of me, are we paying more for a seemingly inferior service?

The only problem is, your image is from UPS, not registered mail which would be USPS I believe.

I recently sent in my very first submission directly to CGC (4 modern fast tracks), using the online form.

I see that USPS delivered it yesterday around 1pm.  At what point would I be able to see any sort of status on  "My submissions"?  Currently it isn't showing anything (unless I'm looking in the wrong place).

Not a big deal, but I'm impatient :)

I sent 18 books in on Friday 6/1, received on Monday 6/4, showed up today 6/6 in my submissions. All regular grading schedule 37 day tier.
