Here's my raw copy. Kindly requesting opinions on the grade and a "defect"

Thanks Heronext, Gnasher and Lions Den, I appreciate your opinions!
Bumping the thread for more opinions

8.5 as is due to: 6 visible spine ticks and 3 of those look color breaking even on that relatively low-res image, all 4 corners are slightly rounded, spine roll and front edge roll.
9.0 with press to remove spine and front edge rolls and some of the non-color breaking spine ticks.

I don’t think CGC would deduct for it at all. Blue label.
Thanks for your response. What's your opinion on the grade?

both look to easily make 9.6.
you'd need to magnify / zoom all corners, edges, and the entire front and back spine for anyone to even reasonably guess if they're a 9.8.

Tough one to grade. Those multiple small color breaks will probably not count as a printing defect as they were likely due to distributor damage, therefore the same as multiple small color break creases or color rubs/scuffs. There's also an upper right corner bump on the front cover, and a color breaking crease on the bottom right corner of the cover.
I'm going to go with 4.5 - 5.0, although some 5.0s I checked on ebays sold listings have better overall cover appeal than this one.
I think opinions are going to vary widely on this one.

9.0 as is due to: upper spine corner bump on back, tiny area of color rub on front cover upper spine corner, few spine ticks, slightly fuzzy upper spine corner.
9.2 - 9.4 with a press, which should eliminate the corner bump. I think the color rub will be the major defect limiting the grade.

Hi Everyone, I picked up this MSH 13 from a fellow collector. Beautiful book at a fair price. It has an interesting "defect" that we believed to be a printing / bindery error. The first wrap is not attached to the bottom staple, but it doesn't look like the page was pulled from the staple by a careless reader. If you look carefully, there's a odd bump around the area where the staple should have punched through the first page. I didn't dare to risk pulling the page back any more to get a better view of the defect as that would have caused a cover crease. i plan on keeping this for my personal collection as it displays great, i got it for a very decent price, and the seller and I are both collectors and had a nice conversation about the nature of the defect leading to an agreement on the price, which adds a personal touch to the book.
Anyways, the seller and I agreed that should the book be CGC'ed it would likely come back with a qualified green label as they would probably see it not as a bindery/printing error, but a defect like a staple pull. I'm curious about the board's opinion. What is your overall grade and would this receive a green label or blue? Thanks for looking!
