  1. I guess my putting quotation marks around "at the box office" was a bit too analogous for some folks. What I meant was the comic didn't live up to its potential. Much like a hyped movie that bombs at the box office.
  2. I remember it getting a lot of buzz back then but then kinda petered out "at the box office" Never seemed to live up to its potential, but I found it a good read.
  3. I'll have to scan all my SA war books. Not a huge amount and not really any keys but maybe someone would like to see them.
  4. Oh nothing wrong with Superthings, just thought it was time for something different.
  5. In an effort to turn this thread away from all things "super"

  12. I really like DC war comics in black & white. And if they released those books in color it would be in archive form and we'd have to pay $50. I'll take the showcase version, thank you very much.
  13. Reprints. Has stuff from Golden age right up to Bronze.
  14. Speaking of Severin, when I met him several years ago at the now defunct Words & Pictures museum in Northhampton Mass, I had him sign my copy of this book. Bought for me by my parents and read to death back in the day. I have it signed by Kubert, Severin, and Cuidera. Hopefully by Heath some day as well.
  15. Yup, Weird War and Losers should be the next two. Gots to have me some Severin Losers goodness. I love that desert story arc. Can't remember the ish numbers but they were 20 cent covers.
  16. Some really nice Cockrum artwork in this book as well.
  17. Just picked up these two babies Now I just have to wade through a bunch of Sparling & Speigle art. Ugh!!
