  1. I volunteer at a thrift store and ran into a copy of Dark Horse Comics STAR WARS Dark Empire #1. I listed it on ebay for 5.99 and did not sell it but I'm glad I didn't because now I own a comic I can send in for grading when I upgrade my membership here. This day has been weird because a series of events brought me here. I'm a book collector foremost but dated a comic book collector years ago. Wednesdays were big days for him. I went to see "Watchmen" with some of my comic book friends (I guess I was invited because I was a chick) and I read "Rant" under a suggestion from one of those friends. I had a crush on him for years but he finally married a nurse. We met in a Photoshop class at a technical college. I did a commercial with him, but I was dating someone when he was having bad luck with girls. That was what was going through my mind when I sat next to him during "Watchmen" during the gratuitous sex scene. My heart was pumping and by his awkward silence I only hope his was to. We haven't spoken since. I however finished the book "Rant" that he suggested I read and my world has never been the same. I spend my days jotting down clues to pay attention. So in general I have been a lurker but never past all the way through but I tell you this...you would be surprised what my room looks like right now for someone who is not a collector... it sure does look like a collector's paradise. My fiance and I don't even have a bed because there is no room for one with the stack of books I have piled all over the place. It's cool when you don't have to search but stuff drops into your lap. I have no idea what we have. So I'm here to learn how to do all this since it is obvious that it is consuming us.
