  1. dc, atlas, classic etc... Finally got thru all the marvels i think, there could me more i havnt found yet in other boxes. At this point im going thru alot of dc,s, atlas, classics and others. Got myself an overstreet guide and have been looking at ebay to get an idea of what some of the comics are worth. I also stopped by a local comic shop and bought 100 backing boards and 100 mylites. The expence of the supplies was about $23.00, so i see that i am going to have to do this slowly if i am going to change out all the boards and bags. I figure the comics have been in there existing bags for at least 20 years. So for now i am still sorting the boxes. By the way the comic book store was very interested in buying one of my hulk 181s. I think eventually what i will do is sell everything and just concentrate on taking care of the marvel stuff and maybe filling in some gaps in the runs. Havnt really decided yet. 2. mostly marvel. As i slowly sort thru my collection of comic books I have noticed it to be about 80 percent marvel comic books. The rest are a mixture of dc,classic, atlas, and image. at the present time i am still sorting just the marvel's. Sorry mcfly but no amazing spiderman #129. There is also three large boxes of magazines. The covers are pretty gruesome with titles like eerie, creepy, etc.The condition of the comics is all over. Some look like their about to fall apart, and others appear to me to be in like new condition. To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.
  3. protecting my comics Still doing the tetious work of sorting thru the boxes of comics. alot of the comics are bagged and boarded, but some of them are not. It also seems like the comics are different sizes depending on the era their from. I would like to know the best way to purchase bags and boards for all these comics. Are there online stores with the best prices and products? How long do these bags last. The comics im longing at have been in boxes for over twenty years. Is it time to replace the bags and boards. 4. found some nice comics so far. ive started sprting thru my comics and have already found some nice ones. most of the comics are silver age. For example i have found an x-men #94, x-men giant size #1, silver silver #1,incredible hulk 180,181 and 182. I have two copies of #181. These are just a few of the good ones i have noticed. It will take me probably another week to finish organizing the rest of the comics. Its lots of fun going thru the comics with my 12 year old daughter. I guess after i finish sorting the comics i will need to get some of them graded. Im also trying to find a way to inventory my comics. any sugestions? 5. going thru my comics that i havnt looked at in 20 years. During the early 1970s i bought many comics( mostly marvel ).I estimate the amount of comics to be around 2000.In the early 90,s A friend talked me into buying out a hobby store. The store contained mostly sport cards with some non sport cards and comic books. This doubled the amount of comics in my collection. So at this point i am just going thru the boxes to see whats in them, but there is so much i dont know where to start. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
