  1. WOW! How perfect did the conditions have to be for this book to have survived in that condition? Must have sat untouched for a very, very long time. Just found it stunning and thought I'd share. Cheers! To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.
  2. The one you always wanted. Did you ever have that one book when you were a kid that was published long before you were born that you just always wanted? A book that you would have killed to own, but knew you would never be able to afford on you meager allowance? I always did and now I finally own it. After much trading and selling of stuff I cared little for anymore (New Mutants 98), I have a Fantastic Four #5. Alongside Thanos, Doom has always been my favorite villain. It really is a gorgeous mid grade copy with high eye appeal. Just some spine stress that travels very little into the cover and some rounding to the bottom right corner. No folds, writing, or staining and NO MARVEL CHIPPING! Pages are beautiful off white to white. I'm pretty sure this will grade in the Fine- range. It cost me a nice chunk of change, but to me was so worth it. To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.
  3. Worth it? Just picked this up recently for cheap (in my opinion), and after looking it over closely, I think it would greatly benefit from a pressing. After that I'm thinking it would get 8.5 to 9.0. The rarity of this seems to be on par with Uncanny X-men #297 Gold (proud owner of one of the census 7) if not more so. There is currently only 8 copies of this book in the census including signature series. Alot of dealers never even heard of this book until recently. A gentleman I've dealt with for years didn't believe it until I showed him my copy in person! To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.
  4. Anybody know the answers? I have two books that I want to submit in the near future, but I think CGC's current label notes are incorrect for them. The first one is Journey into Mystery #86. CGC has it listed as Odin's second appearance, but should it not be listed as his first full appearance? His cameo in #85 is miniscule at best. I don't even think that he speaks. The second book is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #2 (the original series from Mirage). Listed as first appearance of the Mousers. OK. It's also the first appearances of Baxter Stockman and April O'neil. Feedback anyone? To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.
  5. Can't wait to get these three in hand! Three books that have finally been marked as shipped! Amazing Spider-man #298 - 9.4 - a bit lower than I thought but still happy considering it's a newstand copy w/ UPC. Spider-man #1 Platinum Edition - 9.4 - Super excited! I thought 9.0 at best! Uncanny X-Men #297 Pressman Gold Edition - 9.2 - Lower than I thought but, it's one of only 6 or 7 in the census! Can't wait to have them in hand! Thinking of putting the Uncanny 297 on Ebay once I do. To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.
  6. Old school Kirby Marvel! 1st full Odin! 1st Tomorrow Man! 4th Thor! Just purchased a copy of Journey into Mystery #86. Very happy with it. Solid VG+/Fine. My only complaint would be page quality is around a light cream color, and some minor Marvel chipping on right edge front cover. Nice spine, no creases, good staples, clean and flat. I'm hoping for 5.0 to 6.0 range once I send it in. Wish me luck! To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.
