  1. I bought most of the supposed "grail" type books I have during the late eighties when a person could still afford them without a credit card or house mortage....I remember back then everyone was grabbing punisher issues and wolverine appearances and Lobo was super hot. I would buy a single key like the hulk issue and make payments for a month or so and do without any other books or new issues just to get the keys before .......today is proof of that thinking. I could never afford those books today in current price levels ever.
  2. This book might benefit from a good pressing and go up half a notch ....I think it might score a 4.5 on a lucky day
  3. I agree with your appraisal....I think its a low 3.5 if pressed and on a good day hopefully. It is interesting to note in the GPA they have the 3.0 and 3.5 both listed for 10,400 ...
  4. Depending what day of the week I bounce between 3.0-3.5 or thinking if it were pressed it might somehow get that lucky break and possibly go 4.0 Interesting to note in the GPA that both 3.0 and 3.5 for the book are sitting right at 10,400 for either grade so ........unlessi it can hit 4.0 the price doesn't seem that much different grade to grade where this book is condition wise. The Kirby signature is a killer for me too....splash, not the cover and in such a key book too. I agree with your grading suggestion about the book Its at a grade where it was still affordable yet is complete, fairly well attached and legible
  5. I had myself graded it as ....give or take 5.0 if pressed so I think you are right on the mark with me
  6. Thanks for your kind words and taking the time to grade for me. I bought the books back in a period between 85 and 87 so the last 30 years they have just been kept in my private collection .They had seen some traffic before I got them obviously but ......I think it helps anytime you can get books that are kept out of circulation for years at a time
  7. Here are four books I am considering for pressing , grading and slabbing.....thoughts?
  8. I have an Incredible hulk 1 and I tenativey have assigned it a 3.5-4.0 I can get some higher quality pictures if anyone is willing to take a shot at a guesstimate ballpark grade . I am also wondering if there is a possible grade gain cleaning and pressing the book at all.....input, or help appreciated. I can add further images tomorrow if I find anyone responds
