  1. Mate, with all the cost in postage, i could have bought a plane ticket to the states twice over and picked them up directly over the years That's why i say Thank god Harley Yee makes the trip down under each year...allows me to pick up books a little cheaper (well barely) They shouldn't charge you so much for shipping down under. After all, it's downhill all the way. Can't they just coast? CG
  2. Beautiful book, Casey! What a great cover.... The silhouette in the machine is so classic. Is that supposed to be Jean? I know that it looks like her, but from the story, it doesn't fit. BTW, I want all of you guys to know that in spite of the cover art, in this issue, Jean is the only one of the X-Men who is not rendered helpless by Magneto. It is up to Jean to single-handedly defeat the villian. CG
  3. Hi Casey and thanks...... Yes, everything is okay, but on June 1, I accepted a severance package from my employer of 23 years, Hewlett-Packard. I'm not old! I started there when I was six years old Our main income now comes from the rental properties that my husband and I own and manage as well as income from investments. While I guess you could call us "financially independent," my disposable income isn't what it was before. So, after deciding to take the severance, I also decided to take a little vacation from collecting. I thought that I should re-evaluate where I want to go with my collection. Several times in May and June I looked in on the boards and found it hard to resist some really nice books that were posted. Of course, it's a lot easier to resist the bug if you just don't look. Now that I've had some time to think about it, I'm picking back up on my X-Men collection. I'm planning to balance my buying of X-Men by selling some ASM - especially some mid-grade books that I've had for a while. I'm still hoping to make the X-Men registry top ten. I'll try not to be a stranger here as I really enjoy the X-Men group. Excelsior! Rhonda
  4. OMG! KC, did you win the lottery or something?
  5. Sure has gotten quiet around here..... Here's a new arrival. This one comes from Scott Ireland. Good #11s are so hard to find that I couldn't let this one get away.
  6. Nice books, FT! Really fun to look at.
  7. After Casey obtained that amazing 9.4, I went through his trashcans and picked up this nice little book. CG

  9. I never knew that the cover of the #7 was quite that red!! That is a wonderful book. Congratulations.
  10. Well gang, I swore that I would stop spending money on comics for a while. Then, wouldn't you know it but a #18 in 9.0 showed up at Heritage on Sunday and well, you know the rest of the story. I probably don't need to tell you guys that higher grade 18s are hard to find. With only 27 copies in 9.0 or better, I figured it was time to bid. Here is the scan from Heritage. The book isn't in my hands yet... soon.....
