If something is going to close, the prices don't go up. They go the other way in fact.

I wasn't talking about them closing. The guy I replied to said about making books hard to get from the get go,

When I replied I didn't mean inflation of the price of the book. I meant more the reputation and rarity of the books. Basically making a hot book from day one without it happening organically in the market. I can see how price would play into that but that's not what I was getting at initially.

If they are banking on people wanting the books for the readability then limiting in the way they have hinders that possibility.

But I do agree, they are good reads.

I agree. It was a stunt to artificially inflate the books so it was always gonna need to change somewhere down the line. Just a shame they've packed it in instead of changing the model.

I’m in UK and you got a month longer than I did with PayPal. I was reluctant but I must admit for me the switch has been painless.

I do agree though I think it may curb my buying, when you have that money sat in a PayPal account as opposed to a “real” bank account it does mentally make it easier to spend.

If anything it's made it easier for me to buy stuff now. I just whack it on the Amex and rack up the Avios points and get that BA companion voucher a lot quicker.

I don't mind the new eBay setup. Fees even out when you consider it was a listing fee and paypal before. I just rue the removal of £1 final value fees.

  4. As rubbish as this sounds, it's one of those books that can go either way. It's got first appearances in and all it takes is for one of these characters to be used in TV or film and it'll rocket. Look at Strange Academy. People slept on that and it went nuts. Even New Agents of Atlas is going up based on rumors.

I'm gonna pick up two copies of the trade cover and worst case I give them away as freebies to eBay buyers or they rise and I make a profit. It's a £6 punt so it wont hurt to bad if it flops. As with everything in this game, it's all a gamble unless you buy what you love.

A toy dealer with a kiosk at our local mall had just bought a huge lot of newsstand edition comics from somewhere. They were all mixed in with non-newsstand comics in about twenty long boxes, priced at a dollar apiece if ten or more were purchased. He only took cash and I only had a hundred dollars on me, so I had to leave a lot of them behind. Despite that, I managed to get 167 of the comics for my hundred dollars. Here are a few from that buy.

This post made me impulse buy that Uncanny X-men #4.

So tell me about Ice Cream Man...

This was on fire when it was optioned and taken up by Quibi. Since that service folded I don't know what's happening with this anymore. W. Maxwell Prince (the writer) said in Jan that the TV show is still happening but it hasn't been taken up by anyone else though.

That aside this is just a great book all round.
