I see some bends and a couple possible ticks, and looks like something might be on wolvie's chest on his back. 9.2
-
I am also at a 7.5. Probably not worth to press but a cool book nonetheless.
-
Who did it?
-
Thanks all... I have to admit this is quite a range!
-
7.5 ; could be 7.0 depending on how hard CGC hammers those stains.
-
Some small ticks down the side and a little corner crunch but overall structurally quite solid I think... but the question is what's the deal with the discoloration? I don't think it's sunfade, and I don't think it's foxing .. and what's the impact to grade? also, FIRE BAD!!!! I'd love to see this guy sing Christmas carols with Tonto and Tarzan.

Lots to unpack here - some obvious from photos, some not so much. Tears - quarter inch tear down front cover spine at top left; tiny tear above "the world's" in top front cover; multiple tick marks and creases; looks like what appears to be a dust shadow or dirt (?)...
And of course, a gnarly water stain that runs in the top right through the book, both front and back - particularly visible on the back
Otherwise intact, no missing pages.

Sharp looking copy. I can't tell what that mark on the TLBC is, but it looks like a small crease or mark. Solid 8.5 in my opinion.

I would not buy a book as a 3.0 that had hole punches. I’d keep looking in that situation.
well.... I think it depends on the book and the price..... I'd do a lot of things for a TEC 27.

Great to see in any condition. .5 to 1.0

Agree with scburdet above 100% - I think though it'll grade an 8.0. A C&P will benefit it just a bit but I C&P everything I submit. Great book!

With a press, even Doctor Doom would give this a 4.0!
-
I'm at a 2.0, maybe 2.5... god love a golden age batman.
-
I'm at a 9.2/9.4 as well, I also don't see any foxing - I'd be really surprised to see foxing on a relatively new book like this that's card stock, unless it was stored in serious humidity...

4.0. Thanks for sharing - never seen anything like it.

8.5/9.0

By Odin's raven! Thou has't to possess a mighty tome, mortal.... I doth declare it to be a 3.0 for as long as Surtur is to be held at bay and Ragnarok has yet to burst forth upon the fair lands of Asgard.

I'd say you have a 50/50 shot at a 9.8. I think it's unlikely to come back lower than a 9.6, so the risk/reward equation works out. Good luck!

Came in on the high end of predictions - 5.5 (Ow/w). I'll take it.

Beware…Fake high value CGC books in Pacific Northwest

Hello fellow comic friends
I'm about to buy a massive grail AF15 at market price, from a dealer I've known for years. I have seen the book in person too. I really have no real concerns, but then again it costs nothing to ask strangers for a second opinion, especially if dealers are capable of being tricked. Below are pics. Because it's not my book I've masked out the cgc number (I just feel weird about that), but the graders notes are below. The grader's notes match the book description perfectly in my eyes, including the hard to see in the photos piece out of the backcover. It honestly looks 100% legit but damn so did the comics at the start of this post. Thanks again for any opinions.
