I took it as a demonstration how the village worked closely together (outsides and the locals) to prepare the temptation for the offworld forces to come down. But that's just me.
I know. I like this movie better than the first. My fav character is the lady with the heat blades. Wish we had a chance to delve deeper into her backstory.

I never watched so much footage about a village turning wheat into flour

So many of my non-comics friends have texted me after watching Episode 5. Who is this character? How are these guys connected? How does this mutant do that? It's been fun

Just finished episode 5. Really super fun series. Lots of twists and turns.

Finn was OK. It was the writing that made him horrible.

I'll be annoyed if they don't do a season 2!

I watched it over the weekend. Ooof. Such a pointless story. The acting is horrible. The bad guy is dull. Yet, my wife liked it better than The Eternals (she did have 3 drinks before going in)

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought of the Matthew Modine movie (or remembered it) when I saw the title of the thread.

It's the only thing I'm forward to during the SuperBowl

Haha. My wife and I were watching it, and I said "Hey, that's the guy from 'Super Store'! We both looked at each, and in unison, shouted the noise "Bern Bern Bernnnnnn!" Only people who watched Super Store will understand this reference. I miss that show.
