This looks so cool. Glad they didn't go with the dark and drab lighting/background like some of the other DC Movies.

Netflix's COBRA KAI starring Ralph Macchio, William Zabka (2021)
Rodey replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
This show is my guilty pleasure. Each season becomes more and more crazy. The adults in this show are useless. Letting all the kids go bonkers in crazy group fights. I can't wait for the new season!- 324 replies

I was going though my pages the other day and think exactly about all of this. I'm glad I have 2 or 3 pages that I totally enjoy and got at a reasonable price. Overall, I'm very happy with what I have. If something pops up that I like, and it's a decent price? Sure I'll grab it.

Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022) 97% Fresh

I enjoyed the message of the movie. Sure, it took me on a wild ride (hotdog fingers) to get there. -
Fogeys in Bogeys!! In some recent interviews with Cruise it sounds like Val has speaking parts. I would hate to see a talent like Val's (even with his condition) not speak in some way.

Everyone has one, show us your Ron Frenz sketch!
Rodey replied to Blastaar's topic in Original Comic Art
Was going to have Mark Bagley finish this with rest of the New Warriors. But found out he won't touch it. One day I'll have Frenz finish it -

Haha. Guess they aren't making that mistake again. Glad to see they are heavily invested this time! Thanks for sharing! -
AVATAR 2 THE WAY OF WATER starring Sam Worthington (2022)
Rodey replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
I wonder if Avatar 2 will have any merchandise like Star Wars or Marvel? I feel like the first one had nothing. No marketing/merchandising footprint. -
Sorry, that's what happens when I write stuff when I'm not fully awake. I know the internets wanted Krasinski to play Reed for the past several years. So they catered to the fans and went with the obvious/boring choice. However, I think they could have picked some really cool actors to play him: Dev Patel, John Cho, Rahul Kohli. I think Marvel had a chance to use some really great actors other than Krasinski. My last sentence I was just saying that although I truly enjoyed the movie, it had some narrative flaws. That's all.

Reed was the worst. Picking John Krasinki to play Reed was a very boring choice. I get it, but boring. I saw the movie over the weekend, and I felt like they were catering to 2 audiences: those who watched the MCU movies and show and those who never saw them. The story overall was very disjointed to me. I enjoyed it as much as the Ant-Man films.

I enjoyed the final season. Even the ending worked for me. When you analyze that final "shot" and look at how it all lead to moment, it makes sense. But that final moment represents is very depressing and disheartening: family before EVERYTHING.

Disney+'s MOON KNIGHT series starring Oscar Isaac (2022)
Rodey replied to philsbackpack's topic in The Movie Forum
Overall, episode 5 was my favorite so far. Yet, I feel like I'm still on a hamster wheel with the story. Harrow is out there doing evil stuff while Marc is in Egyptian Purgatory/Mental Break. The Psych Ward reminded me of the Underground in Doom Patrol. -

TBH...E4 lost me. Sure the Indiana Jones/Mummy vibe was OK. I feel like the series just went off the rails a tad...for me. -

Tokyo Vice is so good. -
I got that from one of the brothers who owned Empire Comics in Rochester, NY. It was 16th birthday, and my dad took me to the store to buy an X-Men #1 priced at $500 that was sitting in the glass counter. I asked to see. He gave me the "Museum" speech. My dad looked at the guy and pulled out a wad of cash. 15 years later I sold that book for a down payment on my house.

Disney+'s MOON KNIGHT series starring Oscar Isaac (2022)

The show is a little more sizzle than steak so far. MK fighting that demon creature on the rooftops was the highlight for me so far. But my wife and I enjoy it. Not everything has to be the same level of Sopranos or Breaking Bad or The Red Wedding in GoT. -

Disney+'s MOON KNIGHT series starring Oscar Isaac (2022)
Rodey replied to philsbackpack's topic in The Movie Forum
2nd episode was fun. Some cool Easter eggs. During the fight sequence there is an aerial view. On the top of the bus is WBN 32. also when he finds the Storage unit. There is a QR code on the door before he opens it. I scanned it and goes to a marvel unlimited and you can read a free issue of WBN 33. Kinda cool -
Disney+'s MOON KNIGHT series starring Oscar Isaac (2022)
Rodey replied to philsbackpack's topic in The Movie Forum
I enjoyed the first episode. I think Isaac is perfectly cast so far. I can see how this show might be a little less reachable for some people who are not familiar with Moon Knight. His multiple personalities, a quasi-batman, Egyptian stuff all combined does him a character that less accessible compared to other comic characters. My wife watched the show and had a lot of questions. Unlike Wanda, she could wrap her head around, "OK, she has witch powers," or "Vision, he's a robot of some sort." (Yes, us comic fans know Vision is not a robot, but he's grounded in something more concrete than a guy who thinks he's possessed by an Egyptian god.) I think my wife, and other people like her, will come around if the TV show keeps it momentum.
