  1. Are we the hat or are you guys the jockstrap? Lord knows North America is well hung thanks to Florida.
  2. Or that enough North of the Borderers sign up to ship to each other:)
  3. Lotsa ticks, plus the stains on the front cover. You hit some of these modern covers in the right light or with a UV light and you see all kinds of stain spots, marks, etc especially on black covers that otherwise go unnoticed. This is often moisture related.
  4. 7.5 here from me, lots of small spine ticks on this one. Is this book even desired still? Was a dollar book forever, then Ant Man gave it a bump. I assumed it went back to dolla fodda
  5. I am also in the 7.5-8.0 range. That corner rub and there are multiple indentations along the bottom edge too that I think will hurt it more than just the colour rub. If the rub on the spine was the only flaw, sure 9.2 would be possible but I see more issues than that, hence the lower grade.
  6. I mean...cool but not cool? You get crumbs. It would be like the crumbs of a sandwich someone famous ate. Not even the sandwich, which would be odd enough (and probably sell).
  7. Small stains I don’t mind but I hate anything larger than a quarter and especially multiple stains. Ewwwww
  8. CGC hates stains. I see one at top and bottom of spine. I think 5.5 is the limit on this, pressed or not.
  9. I think anything less than a 5.0 is harsh. That small chunk missing along spine sucks, otherwise this book has easy 7.0-7.5 potential. I will venture 5.5. I don't think it can hit 6.0 with that spine issue.
  10. Are you looking to buy a MVS to stick in your incomplete copy?
  11. 4.0 might be high with the tape and 3.0 a tad low so for me an amazing 3.5. Great book!
  12. So I am starting this journal to officially count my collection and to also go through and share what I have. Currently, I have 24 black bins as show that are stored on two shelves. They are not full but some are getting close. I am going to go through each bin and highlight a couple favs, how it’s organized and most importantly how many books are in it! In addition to these bins, I have one king box and one short box with stuff plus some others odds and ends which I will someone count/include in my collection. Now, let’s dive in! First bin is part one of my ASM collection! This bin houses ASM issues from 8 (my earliest) up to issue 183. Here are some of my favs! I have a healthy run from 51 up to 183, but am missing/need to upgrade a few. It’s less than ten issues and is my goal at the moment. ASM 97 was signed by Stan at his last Fan Expo visit, and was bought with a surprise Gil Kane signature inside years earlier on eBay. ASM 121-122 were the first BIG Spidey keys I paid over $100 for. At the time, that felt like a lot but were well worth it. The ASM 61 had a surprise John Romita signature when I bought it. I’ve been very lucky with surprise signatures in books over the years. Finally the ASM 129 was found this year in the best comic collection I’ve ever scored. Aside from a marker “12” on the cover, it looks amazing and I and so happy to have it. Many of these were purchased back when the US economy fell and our good ole Canadian dollar was at par. I scooped up some keys like ASM 101 and generally the run from 100-183 for super cheap. Also, a fun find, my ASM 106 which sadly has a popped top staple BUT does have a nice NDI insert! Issue 50 is a big one I need. I had one but sold it because it was a rough 1.8 and I want something closer to 4.0. I also really want issues 39-40 too as I have always loved those two covers. Also while not technically in this bin, I have one of my three graded comics that I own, a CGC 9.2 of ASM 149 that was a generous prize won from here on the boards. I sold my raw copy because I’m not someone who needs doubles. I also store my copy of What If 24 in this bin, as it features the alternate story had Gwen been saved and just seems right being stored with 121/122. Total count for this bin is..... 139!
  13. No my birth year is 1989 which I don’t care much for. Anything from 70s or older works for me:)
  14. Agree...although I would be swung to actually buy or make an offer on book with a desired date stamp, even if the book itself was not on my list of something I necessarily would buy otherwise. Basically, the date stamp would sell it for me. I enjoy having oddities like this in my PC. But I agree, much better to find them and acquire them naturally than seek them out.
  15. Some other cool dates I would consider offering up to buy -Halloween on a horror related book - Feb 14 on a romance related book - June 9, 1969 on a sexy cover (my mind is in the gutter I know) - February 29th - Dec 25th (I would expect that while rare, some shop owner or newsstand person back in the day worked on Christmas)
  16. Market is crashing. The realization that there are probably a half a million copies of this book out there means everyone who wants or needed one already has one. Thus, market crash. Plus, negative aspects of the cover include: -63% of the cover is red text with the number 300 - its not a newsstand? Yuck dont want it - Spidey has clearly morphed into a puppy and looks like he is trying to scratch his ear with his hind leg - first Venom? Did you not see his hand two issues earlier or his full image in the previous issue? Third time seeing this chump in a comic, boooorrrring -the subliminal messaging in the webbing is an insult to readers...how rude Todd, why would I want to own this book now?
  17. I enjoy visiting this thread every few days, in case someone posts a June 12 stamp...I hold out hope I will see one and then try to haggle with the owner to part with the book
  18. Presents great but a lot of smaller flaws. 5.0 from me. If that bottom staple was tighter, maybe a 5.5
  19. I totally agree that there is a growing market of buyers who are buying raw books (or even slabbed 9.0-9.4 books) and hoping pressing will result in a magic bump. I think that is a silly game to play and results in people getting upset at pressers, CGC and the like because they are bent outta shape that their books weren't magically turned into high grade copies. Pressing does not equal a grade bump. Pressing the right defects will result in a possible grade bump.
  20. I think he just wants you to clarify your point. While I understand the “greedy pressers” statement to a degree I don’t think most people are pressing for greedy purposes. A few sure and some are hiding or lying about it bht certainly not the respected majority.
