  1. Side note: I live in Philly. My neighbor taught Michael Manley (Batman fame) at PAFA. Had a chance to meet him and he was the one that told me, that it was so tough being a grad from art school that there is a whole slew of grads that got into the "art" business by becoming art movers for Museums, private collections etc. Art.... what a tough career path...
  2. You can find specialty movers for art ( most often for large valuable pieces). I certainly don't know the costs, but they would certainly know how to take care of this art. They would also be highly insured and most of these movers were/are artists.
  3. Ok thanks ill pack them separately and ship em off
  4. I guess i didn't explain correctly. When i went to check out after adding the items in my cart, there are 2 groups seen, each have different shipping charges. Am i supposed to pack them separately and ship separately? Seems like a silly question i know..see attached.
  5. About to submit some books and i have searched this forum for some answers, hope the collective can help with a question. 16 books for quickpress/Grading 3 books for grading/pressing/screening The invoice comes up as shipping charges for both...Can i send these in the same box or do i need to send separately?
  6. Honest question since i also recently got here. Beckett has been authenticating signatures for years. I have a signed Thor by Lee at the Baltimore Comic-con a few years back. If i know i had the pleasure of the signature in front of my eyes and a company like Beckett can "authenticate it" , would it be so crazy to have it done.?. I have NO plans to sell it, but keep for the kids, grandkids etc
  7. Regrets, i have had a few of those!. I guess, i am not sure what to do personally. Have i stumbled into a gold mine?..Of course not, but i guess i am not alone in stumbling upon some values recently and saying to myself. " My god, i remember reading that and loved it". Simonson's Thor run kept me glued to my LCS monthly. I HAD to go Tuesdays(i think?) to the mall when new issues came out. Nostalgia is a funny thing
  8. Thanks for all the great replies. Along the way of cataloging these, i got lost in my Sandman series again. Just the pure joy of reading brilliance. I like the comments of sitting back and just enjoying the collection, because that's why i collected in the first place. Its nice to see the crazy " 9.8" values of some of the comics i have. I'm going to re-board and bag most of the ones i love. Going to get some nice display boxes with the front acrylic case to display which comics are in them, and put them in my library area of the house where they belong.
  9. Ok, finally used a database (Collectz.com) and logged all my books.I turn 50 this year and have been collecting since 1978, Off and on through college, etc. The books i loved back then were the usual suspects of course( X-this and that), Camelot 3000, Watchmen, everything by Miller,Gaimen, Moore. Where do i start? My collection is in excellent condition. I understand CGC grading is standard these days. What books from this "Bronze/Copper Age" even some modern age are worth grading? Especially where i "think" they are near mint or mint.( that used to be the old system i was familiar with). any help suggestions are appreciated. As you can tell i don't want to pay ~25 per book only for the grade to be not worth it. Thanks Robert
