  1. Shoot, no takers? I have a feeling I should have listed the Micheal Bolton and Kenny G stuff too!
  2. Just received some gorgeous bronze ASMs from Patrick. Everybody else here seems to be saying what I have to say so pardon the echo. Fast communication, quick expert shipping, fairly priced and tightly graded books.

Yes 1 Full Circle 2002 HERE ARE THE ASMs I NEED (LOOKING FOR LOW TO MID-GRADE COPIES) 120-123, 134, 136
  4. DO YOU WANT TO TRADE your low to mid-grade ASMs for some music history? I have a whole shoebox full of authentic backstage passes from the years 1989-2003. I want to trade them, either individually or in groups, for raw, low to mid-grade ASMs, several issues from 120-134. I'm trying to complete my run of ASM 100-200, and I'm not after high-grade stuff--I want copies I can handle, read, and ENJOY. The passes are 100% authentic. They were given to me as a Christmas present in 2004 by my late friend, who founded the company that printed most of them. They are from his private collection. Most are the peel-off satin fabric type (unused); a few are the laminated "hard card". I'll post photos of the passes in this post, after that an alphabetical list of what's up for grabs and the list the ASMs I'm looking for. I'm only looking to make swaps--selling these just wouldn't feel right. However, I know my late friend liked comics too, and I think he'd like the idea of helping me complete my run! Anybody out there interested? I will consider any reasonable offers, please PM. If anyone wants better photos or a scan of any specific passes, please let me know. Also, this is a partial list--I only posted the passes I thought would be the most sought after. If you're looking for a pass from an artist not listed, try a PM because I might have it! Mods: I'm new here, and I've never sold or swapped, only bought. I read through the rules carefully but please let me know if I need to change anything, and please remove this if it's not appropriate! Thanks! PIC 1--Aerosmith through Don Henley PIC 2--Whitney Houston through Queensryche PIC 3--Bonnie Raitt through Yes
  5. I'm new here, so forgive me if this is a dumb question or if it's already been addressed elsewhere. And mods please move or delete if inappropriate. Question: Is there a section on this forum where one can trade non-comic items for comics? I have a whole pile of unused collectible concert backstage passes from the early 90s to early 2000s. I wanted to see if anyone out there was interested in swapping some for pre #159 ASMs in any grade. The passes are for: Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Boston, Deep Purple, Def Leppard, Eagles, Metallica, Tom Petty, Pearl Jam, Billy Joel, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Rolling Stones, Tesla, Yes, and many many more. Some are the laminated hard cards but most are the fabric type. All are authentic. Anyone interested?
  6. Thank you for your replies! How much does that dent knock it down? I'm wondering since I'm probably the one who did that and want to know how bad I should beat myself up!
  7. Found this old thread in a search...how could it die? Here's a gem, did anyone buy this book? (For the record, I didn't. Asking for a friend...)
  8. If you click on a specific comic it gives more info, including the lower grade prices. And the Popular by Age box in the upper right sure is handy! I'm new here...what's a drek filter?
  9. Thanks for any help! There is a round dent in the cover just above her left hand (last pic). Also, the black cover color looks a little "scuffed" in the top right corner above the comics code box, and also above the letters "ma" in Amazing.
  10. Thanks in advance! I bought this for 10 bucks when I was 12 years old. I vividly remember, because at the time it was the most $ I'd ever spent on one purchase!
  11. Thanks in advance for any input! There is a front cover crease and color break, and a small rear cover tear.
  12. Can I confess something here? Has the statute of limitations on Comic Sins expired after 40 years? Okay then, here goes: I did read some of the comics I bought. Very carefully. But I always figured unread meant better condition down the road, so if I wanted to keep current on a particular book's story line I'd covertly read the latest issue while at the comic store, then search through the rack for the best copy and take that one home unread. There, I've been carrying that around since I was 13, I feel much better now!
  13. Thanks eee91! At first I thought it was time to sell them, especially when I looked up what some were selling for now. But now that I've pulled them all out I seem to be overcome with a severe case of nostalgia--even though it's been 40 years, I still remember most of these covers! And the SMELL--God, I remember that wonderful COMIC BOOK SMELL! Not sure I want to give these up now, so I guess I'll spring for the mylar.
  14. New here, thanks for the add! I collected comics for only a couple years in the late 70s. My older brother was into collecting so of course I caught the bug too, albeit briefly. He's since sold most of his books; my modest little collection has literally been in a box in my closet all this time. I have a pretty good idea what's in there but really have no idea of what grades the books would bring. I joined here so I could find out more about what I have. I think the real meat of my collection is ASM 159-198. The earlier issues aren't higher grade because I didn't get them new, but starting at about #165 all the copies were bought by me, new off the rack, then stored unread. I almost fell over when I saw what #194 was going for these days! My copy looks very pristine (to my newbie eyes anyway) with only one tiny dent in the cover. I'm afraid to even touch the thing for obvious reasons, but I suppose I need to get it graded. I assume that's my most valuable book. There's also a Marvel Premiere #15 in there, plus a Marvel Feature #1, but I don't think either is higher than a 6 or 7. I need to repackage these books. After looking at a few threads, I'm still unsure whether polyethylene or mylar is the way to go. Any help? Also, on a couple of these books when looking at the cover, you can faintly see some of the printing from the inside front cover showing through. Is this normal? Lastly, and this may sound like a dumb question, will scanning these books harm them in any way? Thanks again for the add, and thanks for the newbie help!
