I think this was forgone conclusion. When demand far exceeds the supply the prices were going to go up for sure.

I picked up Forever people 1 Graded 9.2 the other day for like $400. I dont think that is crazy price.

I'm just trying to enjoy some of books I have already. Do I have every key comic, no. But, I have been turning my attention to some DC books that are not getting the love from the marvel mania. Look at these books: Forever people 1, CGC 9.6 for $1350 Jimmy Olen 134 9.0 for $850 Green Lantern 76 8.5 $1375 Batman 251 cgc 8.0 $1000 Batman 227 CGC 8.0 $1025 Batman 232 CGC 9.0 $1399 These prices are buy it now so you know you could probably get them for less. If you collecting because you love the stories and the characters then there are still opportunities to get some good books that you don't have mortgage your house for.

YAY its finally done. only got a half a grade bump but I'm ok with it.

My walk though finished pressing on 4/15 so today is the 4th business day to grade a walkthrough comic. Its definitely not same day as advertised.

Was in grading/qc all day today so who knows maybe tomorrow? That would be 17 business days for walk through.

Got say centered book VS White pages. I try and get white pages when I can but its not a deal breaker. Off center books just look really bad IMO.

Yep I have been hitting refresh all day and haven't seen any movement. Walkthough with pressing is taking 16+ business days after received. I would be pissed if I sent in a stack of books at the end of last year and the TAT just keeps growing for standard. I guess, just continue to be patient.

I quit selling on eBay for good in 2021. It’s not just the new tax laws, their fees are stupid high. 13.5% fee on top of 28% capital gains tax. Do the math there, you sell high value comic let’s say hulk 181 9.0 and it sells for $13,000 that eBay fee is $1755. Let’s also assume you bought it last year when prices were still reasonable for $5500. You end up with $5745 profit that you then have to pay a 28% tax on which is $1608.60 so your actual profit is $4136.40 so between the government and eBay they are taking $3363.30 out of your pocket. Like that’s almost half your profit gone. At that point what’s the point of even selling. Flippers will be in for a real surprise when they go to file their 2021 taxes and end up getting a 1099. Also they don’t know what you paid for your items and so are reporting the entire amount of the transaction to the IRS.

Switched to scheduled for grading today so we will see, I guess it takes a day to schedule and then a day to grade for walkthrough. Today is 15 business days since the original received date of 3/29. They say 10 days for walk through pressing but its closer to 14 days. So far, pretty accurate to what they are posting for TAT.

So I called today and now the received date changed to today 4/15 so ???? Who knows, the lady was very nice but said she was new. Fingers crossed that the date change just means they got the book from ccs after pressing and cleaning. If that’s the case maybe it will grade tomorrow? If so that’s 15 business days for walkthrough pressing and grading. At this point I wouldn’t send in a book that isn’t walkthrough especially if it’s key silver age or Bronze Age book.

Well apparently every X-men issue ever printed is also now a grail, so I guess that’s happening. Its easier to say grail then highly desirable, hard to find, and expensive comic book. That being said, x-men 282 is not my grail. You know what they say, beauty is in the eye of beholder. They also say there is a sucker born every minute...

There has to be 300 lurking in there right?

Monday will be 10 business days for a walkthrough pressing and regrading. I expect to get that Value submission back sometime in July maybe?

There are a ton of 361s out there that are not even graded. There are almost 20,000 graded copies. I have 3 copies of that book, there are probably people that have long boxes full of them. But who knows in this market 9.6s are selling for $450 and 9.8s selling for over $1000.

Funny enough, I used to on purposely avoid news stand editions because I like the look of the Spiderman image better then a barcode. I think I ended up with just 2 in my collection one of which is xmen 141 news stand. Funny story with that book as well. It was graded 9.6 when I got it. Sent in for private singing at a con with Clairmont and CGC would re-grade it. They shipped it back to me in the yellow label without his signature. Then I had to send it back to them, he signed it and they graded it 9.4. Just goes to show you that the grading can be very subjective epecially at higher grades 9.4 - 9.8.

I have both 300 and 316 in 9.6. I really don't understand all of the 9.8 chasing that is going on. If the book really means something to you, get a lower grade copy. I just sent in news stand 300 for grading and I know its going to come back like 5.0 or something like that but it was my brothers from when we were kids, so it means something to me. Honestly my favorite comic is a blue beetle 1 from 1986 because it was my first comic that I bough with my own money in 1986 when I was 9.

With eBay fees and scams I’d stay away. Hi value items might be best to sell on comic link. It will take longer to get paid but I just wouldn’t chance eBay. With the values soaring on some key books you can bet there will be people trying to scam and steal. Or find a good group though Facebook and work with known community members to sell private party. Anyone know what the TAT for walkthrough is? I had one delivered to CGC on Friday. Hoping it doesn’t take 2 long. We will see how long before it shows up.

That’s dirt in between the inner well and the case. Great cgc quality control.
