  1. What is everyone's thoughts on a grade? These are my daughter-in-law's dad's who passed away about 15 years ago. She asked me to take a look at a couple boxes of comics that he had to see if there was any value. He had a good run of older ASM including first Rhino. Kingpin and Punisher. Most likely will send in all three for press and grading so she can persevere them.

It doesn't appear that it is missing, it looks like it was never there (no holes in any pages).

  4. I bought a collection of several short boxes of Silver and Bronze age comics to resell. In it was a run of Captain Marvel from 1 to 17. I never read Captain Marvel so I don't know too much about it. Several of them (8,9,10,14 and 17) look to be 9.0 or higher. I am on the fence about keeping the run or selling it off. I know they are not key issues but with their age I am curious about getting the higher grade issues graded and whether it would be worth the cost (cost per issue for the collection was very low). eBay prices seem all over the place so it's hard judge what they would sell for if I went that route. Any idea how desirable higher grade issues of Captain Marvel are?
  5. I sell quite a bit on ebay and from reading the seller boards over there, once you have a delivery confirmation you should be good. From what I have read if he opens a case against you, all you need to do is upload the delivery confirmation. I would advise him to check with his mail carrier/post office to see where it could be.
  6. I bought this when it came out in 1986 and never read it. I was shocked to see what some of the graded copies are selling for, so thinking of getting it slabbed. I read rumors of possible movie, but I am not sure if this is something that will continue to be of value or will it drop off. Thanks for looking.
  7. What would you grade this at? I stopped collecting about 25 years ago and this is the oldest book in my collection. The whole slabbing of books is new to me so what would be your thoughts on sending it in. I have no plans on ever getting rid of it, would be just to preserve it for myself. Thanks for looking.
  8. Hi Everyone My name is Jim. I collected from the early 80's into the early 90's. I had some time to kill this winter and did a full inventory of my collection on an online database (a little over 1800 books, mainly Marvel with a small amount of DC and independents). Now I am trying to decide my next steps with the collection. I definitely have books that I want to keep and preserve, but also have some that I have no connection to and may look at selling. The whole grading thing is new to me and I am not sure if things are worth having graded or just to sell as is. I have been lurking around the boards trying to gather info and figured it was time to hop in and ask questions.
