    In that case I'm gonna do the thing that no one on this board should ever do and say I think that might be a 9.8....

    :gossip: ("He's an insufficiently_thoughtful_person," they're whispering, and they're not wrong)

    That said, if you submit it you probably have just as good of a chance at a 9.6 as a 9.8 and even an outside chance at a 9.4 (lower than that really would surprise me).  But to me this looks like a book that could be getting the magic number so I'm going on a limb and going with it.  It's so crazy it just might twerk!  Please do let us know if you end up submitting when you get the grade back!!

    It's not me saying it, but the ghosts in my house say they love you, sir.

    The grading's gonna happen as soon as I figure out which books I'm submitting for round 1 and as soon as I get over my chickens**t fear about sending these books, lol.

  2. My lists *finally* seem to have been updated.

    They still are listing out of order, but I would imagine that will get fixed eventually.

    The big issues (for me) that remain are:

    1. not being able to add runs of a book from the list view;
    2. not being able to see whether i have copies of issues when searching through a title;
    3. The additional clicks this interface has whenever I want to add a book

    What's the small white mark on the top left of back cover, directly across from the "S" in secrets?  I'm not weighing in with some crazy grade until I've dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's!!  :flamed:

    I checked the book and there's nothing there. I blame the ghosts in my house.

  4. A bit tough from a single photo, and the photo has a lot of jpg artifacts which also make it difficult to analyze. Bottom left corner looks to have a small tear, and there's something along the bottom under the "PE" in Superhero that may be a tear or may be nothing... also looks like some chipping along the right edge in the upper black area and another possibly along the top. I also see a possible spine ding about halfway. Presents very well overall, but I'm not sure what's there that a press would help.

    Extra points for being funny and laughing through the pain...

    appears at least 9.6 unless some of the graininess is color rub?

    Most likely glare. I've yet to perfect my photo set-up, but this spot seems to at least be good for sharper images with truer colors.

    Not often we are off so far.  I looked at this again, and hold my grade at 7.0. Maybe you see the top left shading line as a hit to the 6 range, but I see no way this is below a 6.0.

    I also pulled my 80s price guide and a 6.0 copy was worth $90 in 1989.  I suspect the sellers grade was higher for him to pay $115 5 years or so earlier.

    Would love to see you slab this and verify.

    I'm super skittish about submitting (because I've never done it before), but I definitely will and soon-ish. ;) This book is near the top of the list.

    FWIW, the book was purchased from Mike's Comic Hut in Queens, who graded it VF, which would actually put it around 8. It's sat in this same mylar back with an acid-free backing board since then until I took it out for photos.

    Out of curiosity, has anyone gotten a reply from GC after submitting an observation/complaint about the new upgrade to the Helpdesk?

    I sent in a ticket about the missing books and the rep who got back to me has been very responsive and polite, however my issues with multiple copies of books not migrating remain unresolved.
